Nah...go for a Skoda Octavia vRS- an 2wd Audi TT with a nicer body.

10k gets a good 2 year old used one, chip it and add a stainless back box and you've got 225bhp. 0-60 in 6 sec and top speed of 154mph (lighter 2wd chassis). I'd pay £10k just to see the expressions on the faces off all those people you burn off on your Skoda...

Octavia available in 4x4 turbo version too. Is down on power compared with the RS and doesn't have the kit, but as with all the 1.8 turbo engines in the VW range, it's really only the chip that determines power. Chip this and 'zorst it and yuo have a cheap impreza (though it mighn't keep up, it will be quick)

Without the kit, you'd really embarrass some unsuspecting baseball hat'd types (though obviously not implying that of 106 gti's) smile.gif

A very nice motor indeed, especially in silver, if you can get hold of one.

I read all the topics on the 106 Gti and here my opinion.

I bought a brand new 106 (not gti) before the almighty car I owne now.

I was disappointed with the car as a whole, the car never felt well balanced to me. I spun the car 180 on a couple of occasions when I really wasn't even trying at all.

The cars handling in the wet was very poor and the slightest twitch and it sent back end out and away.

I have also driven the 106 gti with a few modifacations (one of which meant you could take it to about 7100rpm) The 106 Gti is totally different to other Peugeots. I have driven the 106 1.1 - 106 gti - 206 1.4 - 206 gti - 306 dt.

The 106 gti is by far the most exiting (206 gti was crap  )
This particular gti was very fast but again I didn't feel anywhere near as safe as I do in the puma.

The puma allows you to totally swing it into corners and roundabouts without losing it. You can feel the movment in the rear and you know when to ease up a little. The GTI ..... it just spins out. 19.gif

No offense smile.gif
