I'd love a bit more power... 180-190 would be soooo cool... the braking and handling are soo ready for it...

Turn it on and in one cycle of the engine you can add massive amounts of power.
£ for BHP, its very cheap.
It can be installed so its virtually impossible to see its fitted.
But,
Bottles are hard to get refilled, you need to get industrial nos really. Not hospital stuff.
I have seen it on a Mk1 escort with a 650 odd BHP rs200 engine, being used to remove turbo lag.
650Bhp worth of nos leaving the line and as the boost came in the nos faded out. Very clever.
A mate used to ADD 300BHP to a 440cui big block Zodiac, road tyres used to evaporate off the traffic lights.
1000BHP in a MK2 Zodiac.....
Also depends on how often you drive your car hard enough to need loads of power?
If you are going to use it regularly, go for the engine upgrade.
Either way, I want to see what it goes like.
Mk3 XR3i
R Reg 1.7 Puma
T Reg 1.7 Lux Puma
Now its Racing Puma 072

as dogsbody says tho.... it would surely be quite nice to turn it off and have your standard car back again for longer drives or when using the car over winter months...
i'm liking the NOS idea more and more....
i tell you what .... get the cnc done and we'll have a quick race round my local country curcuit....see if you keep up...

but i guess the major flaw with the idea is that you would lose the numbered manifold

i think dismantling the engine, re-machining it, chipping and camming it seems an outragoes waste of money for such small improvments....
I think NOS is definatly the way forward for me... it's cheaper... far far easier and less costly to install and can be switched on and off.... the power benefits from the nos with progressive controller just make the cnc work look pityful to be honest....
i'm not saying any more as i'm no expert on the subject...

kei87 has installed it on his FRP.... and has provided me with enought starter info to get me going... he has installed a 'widewand' version hego sensor also to keep the mixture running sweet......
I'm in the process of joining the wizards of nos forum to get a bit more info and advice on the subject.....
