Hello,
so, finally have the car I've wanted for yonks. Saw her advertised on eBay, spoke to the owner and struck a deal. A bargain of a deal. It was stated as having a poor condition bodywork state but sound mechanically. Flew up to Edinburgh, went for a spin and fell in total love with it. He had clay bared it and even gave me a full tank of fuel. On top of that, he also gave me some old front disks (but they are a bit too rusty for me so will probably shift them if anyone wants them) and being Scotland, some Irn Bru glasses and genuine Irn Bru. :) So began the drive down from Edinburgh to Brighton. Apart from off wheel balancing and the odd squeak she drove amazingly. She has a Pipercross induction kit and a stainless steel mid section welded onto the backbox, she has now done just 61k, has almost full service history, good brakes, good tyres. All this, for a litle under £4k! :)

So here are some pics sent to me and from eBay of her:

As you can see, there is a hole in the front bumper along with chips all over it and also the rear wings :( but hey. Apart from that the body work is much better than the picture the seller painted to me. However yesterday, driving down a slope, I caught the splitter and cracked it! The 2 rear alloys are very new but the front 2 are in need of refurb. A previous owner has made a pacel shelf (badly) and covered it in blue alcantara, he also covered the back of the back seats in blue alcantara and had a sub in the boot and left ribs and marks all over it.

The interior is also in good condition. You can prob see that the wheel has no alcantara, its a fiesta wheel! It also came with a sparco gear knob, which I changed this morning! A previous owner had tweeters installed and this has left a big hole in each piece of trim inside of the wing mirror. At least it has the original mats.

Some pics of her when I got back:

A pic of the mrs in her :)

the added bonus I was given, being from Scotland :)

So list of things to do:
- Get a aerial for her
- Repair bumper and arches plus sort usual rust,
- Replace steering wheel,
- Refurb alloys and maybe get them coloured in anthracite,
-Replace parcel shelf and boot carpet,
- Fit Fiesta external temp sensor
- Fit one touch window down

So, think thats everything! :)

100g lol.... i'd say from that it's definalty got a buckle in it.... it annoys me when tyre fitters don't actually bother to WATCH the wheel spin round..

and stick on what the machine says to stick on... :head:

if i had a bit more space, i'd definalty buy a balancing machine...would be sooooo handy... :D

Looks like you got yourself a good project at a pocket friendly price.

Check that the cam belt has been changed, and don;t forget the FRP has need of a different timing tool.
There are several garages you could use, Pumabuild being furthest then there is Tremona in Southampton then you could go pretty local to you, let me know if you want to do that.

The lengths people will go to to get rid of Irn Bru.

Sounds like a good find.

I asked them to look for buckles, but they said it was ok :S I agree with you on the balancing machine, life would be so simple, plus make some money on the side!

I think the cam belt does need doing, but I need to save some cash, but will be looking to get it done soon! Is Southampton the best down here down here?

So, having a day off I thought I'd try and get a bit more sorted with the car. The postman still didn't bring my new aerial :( so stuck with this:

Posted Image

A bird decided my car would be better off white ( and also my hand, which was disgusting!) so took the opportunity of sunshine to give her a clean:

Posted Image

A mate told me about a massive breakers yard at Pease Pottage so thought I'd take a look and see if I could find the parts from my list of bits. There was only one puma there, a Melina Blue one that had been totally raped of parts! I only managed to get one tiny part. I hid it in my sock and walked out :)

spot the difference:

Wow what a mechanical milestone when compared with the Cosworth Pumas :)

So I am still looking for the following parts:

screw cover
Posted Image

is there meant to be a cover here?
Posted Image

These are the biggest eyesore!
Posted Image

in the boot, the clip keeping the jack cover closed:
Posted Image

If anyone can help with any of these bits I would be so grateful! Also need the clip for the bonnet stay when it is down.

Finally, I want to get rid of this shelf for an OEM one. Does anyone fancy a swap?? :)

You can still buy from Ford that screw cover and also the plastic fastners for the interior.

Just a couple of minor bits done, but hey, every little helps!

My aierial finally turned up, and I think it looks great, much better than I expected! Great for about £3!

I saw a little while ago on here that someone had a Focus power socket cover instead of the lighter! Got one off eBay for next to nothing! My lighter didnt even work and I hate smoking so its a win win for me. It was too small at first but with a bit of bending of the lugs it now fits great! :)

Finally, I didn't get an original Tickford owners supplement with my car, so saw that someone was selling one on ebay. Ok its not my number, but it is close!

Sorry to the owner of 429, I have you book!

Toying with the idea of joining the FRPOC. Any comments??

Matt
