I had been driving along the motorway coming back from a car meeting a few weeks ago now, and that was the first time that I had taken my own Ford Puma out at night time, and I have discovered how dim the headlights are any ideas on how to brighten them up.

Are there any headlight bulbs, that are personally highly recommended?

James

I've got Halfords Ultra Bright bulbs, which IIRC are actually relabelled Osrams, so good quality bulbs. When I bought mine they were on BOGOF, I only have them in the dipped beams because I don't really feel that full beam gets enough use to warrant the money. However, you can get an HID conversion kit from eBay for about £70, someone on here has one and recommends it, so I shall most likely get one myself.

I replaced my bulbs with new standard ones (shop around BTW as I got a pair for £14). The old ones had gone white from the heat which must have affected their performance.

I'll be playing with their aim as soon as I get the chance.

WHAT ??? 20 pounds for one bulb ???

can't be, can it ?

I would be happy to organize those bulbs for no more than 8 pounds each, hand-carried to the anniversary meet in July.
with a friendly Puma smile,

yeah the philips blue vision one retail at £20 each. They cost us more than £8 each to buy in at the shop (maybe cause we dont buy in large quantities??) , so if you can get them for £8 do it!!

all the others (h1,h7 &h4 are dirt cheap but for some reason the HB3 or 9006 or whatever you want to refer to them as are silly money.

£8 is a bargain!

I wonder how many people are interested in Xenons as those ones from Hong Kong are only about £35 but with about £35 shipping. If a few people were interested I'm sure the price would come down to <£50 all in quite easily. That's as cheap as a set of PIAA bulbs!

Get them from China factory direct, thats what me and mr Malin did smile.gif

Or if you want a higher quality kit get hold of a Korean or Japanese made one, cost more though, lol.

Ive got 4300k (most light output) think James got the same. There fine with the puma headlamps and as they are projectors you still get that blue/purple flicker than you get on oem equipped cars.

The Korean and Japaneese made kits are harder to find and ive only just started looking into them. But TBH ive had no problem with that kit and I don't think James has either and with a 3 year warranty they obviously have confidence in them lasting.

check your manual...

from viewing the speeding website, 9005 is the same as HB3, but not H4.
