Hello,

I have been wondering about buying front Powerflex bushes as the rear were replaced when my car's MOT was due, and I am thinking that the front one's will be due to get replaced shortly.

I am thinking about buying the below,

FRONT WISHBONE LOWER FRONT x 2

FRONT WISHBONE LOWER REAR x 2

FRONT ANTI ROLL BAR MOUNT x 2

Let me know if the above front Powerflex bushes are a good or a bad idea to buy.

why not matches your rear ones and they last longer than the OEM I gather so better for even tyre wear.

FRONT ANTI ROLL BAR MOUNT x 2 this one is not a Puma item though for the FRP.
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

I forgot to say that the rear beam ones that were replaced for the MOT are blue Powerflex ones.

Thanks Kate for saying that the FRONT ANTI ROLL BAR MOUNT x 2 are for an FRP only as I own an FRP just like you.

I know! if you order from say Pumabuild you should be OK and get the right other bush and the rest Powerflex.
I 'think' it is that bush that does not have a powerflex replacement and it is also not a standard Pume bush either. Still Ford OEM but a different car, think it's an Escort van ja_stupid.gif

Not sure how to add a short cut, so I just cut&pasted. I posted this about 4 pages ago may save you a few quid.

"Some of you may already know, but for anyone planning changing the front wishbone rear rubber bush to the uprated one, don't pay the fifty odd quid for a pair from the 'puma-tunas'. It's a standard ford item part number 97FB 3A262 AA FRP BUSH, think they cost about 7 quid each."

i would definately recommend them tho jus fitted them this weekend makes a big difference to steering feel.
bought my set from an ebay shop.
buy toyota celica GT4. fix puma, again. then sell

130 bhp upgrade and handling that makes the puma feel useless on a corner
now thats money better spent.

it is a standard Ford item, but it is not about £7 even from Ford unless you get discount/trade. Lucky you though biggrin.gif
It is not FRP specific rather the FRP uses a bush from the Ford parts bin of other models so to speak

the shinny one is wrong I think for the FRP ja_stupid.gif
That bush is the one that has to be a Ford item I think specific for the FRP (though it is something like an Escort van bush)

That is right as I already have the rear powerflex bushes fitted on my own FRP.

All I was looking for was front Powerflex bushes.

the silver looking bush is not the one for the FRP. The FRP does not use a standard Puma bush there. Even when buying a powerflex set from say PB if they know it is for the FRP then you get the correct FRP ford bush.

The silver cased Powerflex bush is called the Front Wishbone Lower Rear Bush. (PFF19-702)

If I need to I can always resell it on ebay as it only fits a normal Ford Puma.
