Eigendlich wollte ich den Puma ja auf FRP-Optik umabuen, doch nachdem ich in nem englischen Forum eine Fotomontage von nem grünen FRP mit FRS2-Front gesehen habe... entschied ich mich kurzfristig um....; keine Ahnung ob das Vorhaben überhaupt umsetzbar ist...

Kurzerhand bestellte ich mir auf blauen Dunst eine FRS2-Front von der Insel, leider sind die heutigen Stoßstangen nur aus dünnen Kunststoff, die ohne Innenleben wertlos sind.

Die andren Teile (Nebelscheinwerfer,Blenden und das Herzstück der schwarze Lufteinlaß bestellte ich neu bei nem Ford-Händler in Deutschland, nach 4 Wochen Lieferzeit hatte ich die einzig verfügbaren Teile auch bei mir Zuhause.

Von Tuninghaus hatte ich ja nen nagelneue FRP-Front aus GFK rumliegen, die dem Projekt auch zum Opfer gefallen ist5.

@ Bernd die Front hat perfekt gepaßt :)

Nun fangen wir mal an das Ganze zu zerlegen und in der Mitte durchzuschneiden (hat ja nur einige 100€ gekostet)

zur groben Anpassung habe ich einfach die zerschnittende FRS2-Front auf die FRP-Front geschraubt und nach und nach angepaßt.
dazu mußte ich auch 70% der FRP-Front zerstückeln...

Die FRS2-front ist um ca. 20cm eingekürzt wurden, genauso wie der Lufteinlaß.....

Alle Bauteile wurden dann mit viel Epoxydharz und Glasfaserflies miteinander verklebt und solange bearbeitet bis die Oberfläche glatt war......
ich habe kein Polyesterharz verwendet, da dieses auch nach der Trocknung schrumpft und somit einfällt.

zusätzlich zu der Stoßstange mußten auch noch die Kotflügel angepaßt werden, damit die Übergänge zu einander passen......
Insgesamt habe ich bestimmt über 100 Stunden an der ganzen Sache geschliffen/laminiert/angepaßt.

(alles nur mit der Sprühdose "lackiert" und zusammengestellt um zu sehen ob alles zueinander paßt.)

Gestern habe ich angefangen die Kotflügel zu Lackieren (nur zur Probe) dabei habe ich festegstellt das der Lack seitenmatt glänzt, darum muß ich den Wagen nach der Trocknung noch einmal nachschleifen, damit alles schön matt ist.

zum Schluß wollte ich mich noch einmal bei allen Focus MK2 Fahrern entschuldigen, da ich ne FRS2-Front so behandelt habe :thumbup: :thumbup:

Just worries the bumper might be a bit too deep.

Wow what an amazing car! I was literally looking at an RS that parked next to my puma and was thinking that it would be nice to drag that styling into mine. Damn seems I got beat! Like I would ever have the dedication to complete a cosmetic job!

searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Are you going to use the Transit Connect hubs to fit the 5 stud wheels?

Looks really good, only slightly suspect bit is the line of the front bumper into the arch, I think this will look awesome when complete though.
