Ordered a Sony A700 on Friday from here and it turned up today. My parents gave me some money and it was an excellent price (it included a lens, which makes it even more of a bargain). Also, Sony are running a cashback offer at the moment, so I should be able to claim £150 back! Won't believe it until I get the cheque in my hand, though...
First effort is, as always, the cat. I have only rotated this image and done a jpeg conversion, otherwise it is as it came out of the camera.
Detail, colour and exposure all seem excellent. Next is an experiment to explore the colour noise performance at varying ISO levels, as that was the biggest issue with the A100.
Incidentally, the A100 will be going on Ebay soon, so if anyone is interested in it you can pm me.

Mike,
Get one of these
http://www.cameratown.com/reviews/expodisc/index.cfm
I picked up a 72mm one the other day, and it really does make a difference.
I've also got colour chart, and a grey card, but the expodisc is much simpler to use, and the results are spot on.

Excellent tip, Matt, thanks! I was just talking with Coral last night about needing something like this. Once I have sold the A100 I'll have some money and I think I might invest in one of these.
