hmmm
Someone has oviousley scraped past my car , putting a nice long scrape in my alloy / centre cap and then scraping down the car removing my paint and giving me a dent (guessing it was with there indicator)
Posting on here is pretty pointless as its going to solve nothing but im pretty gutted TBH. No note or anything which meens im going to have to fork out the bill. Got my Suspicions of who it is tho and if i have enough evidence its going to be hard not to kick there wingmirrors off.

These kinda scrapes are the worst because its not worth claiming on the Insurance because of your excess and No claims bonus!!
If i didnt have a garage i would not have bought a Puma!!!...i always keep my baby locked up, away from the enemy (man kind!!!!)

If you do claim then it will be classed as 'own fault' - because there is no third party to claim off
My insurance company, at the time, initially quoted me happy but made me extremely unhappy when it came to claiming and I wouldn't touch ANY of their products again
I went with the cheapest insurance quote at the time and it cost me dear

We had fun with them with a claim on a household policy, it took months.

Still, not what you need at this time of year..
I recently had a lorry scrape my bumper - I went purely through their insurance rather than my own, since I know if I declare it to mine then they will bump the premium up next year, even though it wasn't my fault.
I know you shouldn't do that, but it seems to work

so they would increase your premium even though you haven't made a claim and they haven't paid a penny????
How the f%£!^!! does that work???
Surely the lorry drivers premium will go up not yours??

Don't you have to declare any accident - even if you don't make a claim - otherwise it could invalidate your insurance?
They all talk to each other now - so I'd imagine they'd find out if a claim was made....

Thats not a problem as long as when you get asked on the Insurance Forms "have you ever had an accident in the last 5 years" you say yes and give details then youll be fine....
If you dont declare it then you will be telling lies on the form and the Insurers will throw any claim you may make out in future...its not worth the gamble cos im sure youll not be feeling smug if you write your car off and have to pay out yourself for a new car (oh...and the car of the other party!!).....
isnt worth it really.
They all talk to each other now - so I'd imagine they'd find out if a claim was made....
Thats correct..they have an Insurers database where they share details....its to prevent fraud etc (i.e. people giving false details!!!!!)
BUT..like ive said previously ...they arent really bothered untill you go to make a claim..because untill then they are just taking your money safe in the knowledge that if you do happen to make a claim then they can legally kick your claim out because youve lied on the proposal form!!!!.....clever eh!!..its a WIN WIN situation for the Insurers....so my advice- NEVER lie to Insurers...dont even bend the truth.

I've had trouble in the past getting resonable quotes whilst having an ongoing claim against another driver..
Obviously claiming against your own insurance puts the premiums up, but even claiming against someone else can put it up to - I guess they calculate that if your car keeps getting hit, then you're at a higher risk, and you wont always catch the person who did it.

Until the claim is closed and your insurance company have received their money back from the other company I think it is still counted as a claim on your insurance.
