Very good 10 page review on the 1.7 Puma. Pumabuild have an input and the forum gets a mention. Time to buy "one of the best front-wheel drive cars of all time" cool.gif

More like 13 pages...wink.gif

Great feature with some quality Jamie Lipman photography.

Well done to Kate (happykat) and Ian (Mountain Lion) for making sure Dan the writer had good info - Nice to see you both thanked, along with Pumapeople smile.gif

Just bought a copy - excellent article and cracking photos. Unfortunately i feel that there may be a downside to the publicity - as our Baseball Capped friends will now realise that they could get their sovereign ringed hands on Fords Best Kept Secret for around a grand - so expect to see more "Modded?" examples.

Leave the Puma alone please and stick to your Novas and Saxos 7.gif

They'll stick to their corsa's and saxo's cos handling isn't what they want. They want the mods everyone else has and the cars that everyone else has. the proof to that is look at how many cars have "M3 style mirrors" as a 1st mod.

Not much you can do to the Puma cosmetically as its the shape that sets the car aside along with the handling.
Well it was fun while it lasted...

You mean that you wouldn't welcome the burberry fraternity with open arms?

what it may do is highlight the quality of the standard and FRP engine for putting in Fiestas and the like, which is what i'd do if i wanted a fast small car on a lowish budget, so you may find a shortage of good engines if needed.

Cool! Met Jamie (the photographer) last year at a track day and gave him a few laps in my 1.7. I've also got a few shots he took of me driving from the day. He's got a rather lovely old 911 he bought off Steve Coogan i think. I'll be buying that tomorrow.

One advantage of the chavs buying up cheap Pumas and modding them beyond all recognition (thinking of the Millennium that was posted up here recently) is that the remaining standard and cared for Pumas will be that little bit rarer and might hold the value a bit better. wink.gif

Bought the mag tonight - excellent feature and a great resource for potential buyers. Nice shots and good exposure for the car, although it would have been nice to read a bit more about the history and development. Doubt too many traffic light racers and and Halfords bargain bin raiders will be buying Performance Car.

Amazing to think almost 50,000 of them were sold in the UK. Sounds like it was a great success for Ford?

No, not yet - I've not been past a newsagents (I will though biggrin.gif )

Their website needs updating though - it's still showing April's issue.
