The Racing Puma Owners Club will again be having a stand at the Classic Motor Show at the NEC this year...

Because the stand is run by RPOC rather than pumapeople, this show is normally only open to FRPs, but as this year is the 10 year anniversary for our pumas, it would be good to add a couple of non-FRPs too wink.gif

I've already got a few pumas offered for the stand:

FMC 0001 (from the Ford museum!)
FRP 0001
FRP 0385
FRP 0500
FRP 0155

And also, a silver Thunder smile.gif

- guys, can you confirm you're still available?

I've got space for a couple more cars on the stand, would any of you like to take part?

Your car would need to be available from THURSDAY 8th November until SUNDAY 11th November. (Once it is in place on the stand, it cannot be moved again until the show ends on Sunday evening)

What I'd REALLY like for the stand is a very early puma, but if you and your car are available and would like free entry to the show for yourself and a mate, let me know wink.gif

Of course, there's nothing to stop anyone coming along to the show just for a look anyway cool.gif

UPDATE 28/09/07

CONFIRMED STAND PLACES

FMC 01
FRP #001
FRP #385
FRP #500
FRP #155
R5CPD
Hot Wheels

Reserves
FRP #185
FRP #338

Sadly all the stand places have now gone, and I have a couple of reserves - thanks guys! - but if anyone want to come and help out on the stand, we'd still be happy to see you smile.gif

I don't think they come much earlier than mine... but it's rusted to hell at the moment.
Probably won't be able to get the respray work done by then either. Shame.

Its a good place to sell your FRP too as the stand usually generates loads of interest and people ask about cars that are for sale. If anyone has one for sale then I would recommend it going on the stand for the weekend.

only thing is, we can't 'overtly' advertise cars for sale.... then again, if anyone asks, we can tell them wink.gif

Ford let you just take FMC1 do they?

I couldn't get the time off anyway. I work a 3 on 3 off shift patten. (no holiday till January )
If it was just a couple of days I would have booked into a travel inn and made a break of it.
I would have loved to come biggrin.gif

Thanks Dani - I'll add you to the list and let you know smile.gif

Just to reiterate - if your car is on the stand it must be brought to the NEC on the Thursday (we usually get there about 12) and must then stay there until the show closes on Sunday.

I'm looking for 7 or 8 cars (including the ones that are in the OP above wink.gif ) but I'd also love to have a couple of backups, just in case anyone drops out!

I'd also love to hear from anyone who'd be willing to act as 'helpers' on the stand each day (that's Friday, Saturday and Sunday) so if you'd like to do that, let me know, even if your car isn't on display wink.gif You wouldn't need to be able to be there EVERY day, just one or two would be good! Only proviso is you must actually stay with the stand a good part of the time - but you'd still have time for a good look round the show.

I would be willing to help on the stand.

Where does everyone stay normally while this is going on? Do you all book a travel lodge or something?

Could you let me know asap if my car is wanted as I would need to book time off work for this.

being pedantic it is FMC01 wink.gif
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

pah, pedants tongue.gif

Dunk and I are going to be staying in a hotel nearby... the hotel has a deal on at the mo - if you book 3 nights, you get the 3rd one free! Don't know how long the offer will be on, but it's costing us around £180 for 4 nights, double room, including full english breakfast. Didn't think that was bad, really! It's nice and close to the NEC too.

Dani (or anyone else who's coming up for the show!) - pm me if you want the details wink.gif

[edit] checked the website last night and the hotel is now full....
