I'm gradually getting through all the old BL models using Photoshop wink.gif

Original car- needed a bit more work than at Tickford!

Why weren't you working for BL in the 70's? They would have cleaned up!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

my first car was a T-reg Princess, in a slightly lighter blue - the only car I px-ed for more than I paid to buy!

well spotted Mr Downes wink.gif

I had this mad idea a few years ago to buy up old Princesses and remanufacture them using only the shells as I quite like the way they look...doubt it would make business sense.

I'm thinking of an FRSD1 next but I think Rover themselves did a fine job with the Vitesse cool.gif Maybe an Ital... tongue.gif

Triumph TR7 would be more Puma-a-like maybe? Always had a soft spot for the TR7. biggrin.gif

Better off starting with an MGRV8, half the work is done already tongue.gif

TR7 is quite square but 'suitable' for treatment. I'm thinking TR7RS...

Yeah I like that! I do like the Princess though, if they had given it a hatchback it would have sold much better I think.

It finally got a hatchback when it was rechristened as the Ambassador.

It's easily as good as the Racing Allegro you did, if not better smile.gif

Yeah but the Ambassador wasn't as good looking as it had the headlamps from the Ital. I do like the wedge shape though. The Allegro concept drawings were all stylishly wedge shaped too.

True. Unfortunately the Allegro turned out to be a horrible ugly piggy little thing - nothing like the original design sketches.

If only we could go back and warn them, we might still have a motor industry. I blame Thatcher for selling Austin Rover to BAe. Not all the concepts were better, the Maestro for example looks like a 70's Citroen reject.

A 3 door version of the MG Maestro Turbo could have been interesting though and at least one 3 door shell was made.

PS - Colin could you make an FRM (Maestro) next? smile.gif

A Maestro with a Montego front end. Weird....

(Well actually it's not weird at all, as they are the same car. Just begs the question - why?)

There used to be a Maestro Van with a Montego front end in Eastbourne. I thought I'd share that with you. biggrin.gif
