Some of which have become HDR based, but my new live is large scale panoramas.
Got myself a Manfrotto 303SPH head, and couple of new bits of software. Zoomify which creates tiles from images so you can view at full resolution, and a superb bit of code from France, Autopano.
As a guide, the image below is created using that code.
"Bonded Warehouse"
Technical :
A900, 50mm focal, Manfrotto 303SPH with 15degree horizontal and vertical separation.
Two row 8 Image raw stitched with Autopano Pro.
Minor straightening and tonal adjustment in CS4
Output file 9705px x 7696px, 37mb jpg, print size 3m x 4m
The full size image can be seen here. Click on the image and it will zoom in, takes a bit of time as it is downloading segments of the image bit by bit.
I've done some large scale test work with bracketed HDR images, biggest so far is 6m x 4m 30 core image, which came out at 2.5Gb, and 13977 x 9299px! Mind you took half a day to generate
Works just as well with hand held images, this from just outside Cape Town.
Looking towards possibly Klein Drakenstein mountain.
Two image panoramic, orig file 8000 by 3200 px
Talking to Mickey2CV today, he's jumped to using Autopano, and is hooked too

I have a simple question though: where did you take the bonded warehouse pic?

Trust me, its a doddle to use. Really
Clue to the location of the warehouse is on the name plate on the wall
Second clue is in the url for the zoomify image...

there is something my eyes are not comfortable with re the focus, but that could just be how I am seeing it
my thought was one of the Tickford coach building warehouse
the second picture I can relate to more, it is very easy and deep to look at

couldn't read the nameplate on the wall (was my first port of call!) - clicked your link, and then could zoom in and saw Stourbridge!
asked cos it looked familiar but I would have said Dudley - didn't want to say that at first in case it was somewhere truly exotic

Kate, if you mean the end of the building, then its barrel ended building. Add to that the age of the buildings and there are some very strange optical effects.
The image is non sharpened, as it was designed as a test bed to see how not only the construction worked, but how various other elements of processing software could cope.

If you look carefuly, there are chunks of the bricks missing toward the top and bottom, this gives the illusion that the wall is either curved, or distorted.

The next thing I'd like to try is some night time urban stuff with the bike, partly as I'm kicking off the club calendar at the moment and want a few nice pictures to submit and partly because I'm doing a few major changes on it at the moment so might get some good shots once it's done
