Someone just deleted them off the server without saying.. let me try and sort hosting out...

By the way the car was great performance wise (was "overtaking" the MX5 1.6 and 1.8 turbo) and the brakes were 'ok' but everything was soo hot when coming off track. I left it ticking over though. The fan was on for about 10 mins ohmy.gif I think the induction kit in that cooler weather and the bluefin chip gave a good boost. Hell I even had a tank full of bp ultimate 109p to get everything out the engine lol.

glad though that you are OK smile.gif

keep getting the quotes, perhaps split the repairs out, get quotes for the panel damage repairs and seperately for the respray work, might make it cheaper ja_stupid.gif

it would still be cheaper to repair then replace?

coming up to a corner looking forward to other sessions, from my experience ignore what's behind you (I use peripheral vision really) and concentrate on getting round the corner. Unless it is a straight they shouldn't be trying to pass you (though this is why I wont do Ford Fair anymore).
Be aware of what is behind you but if it is an approach to a corner you need to look forward and they can worry about themselves.
Really sorry that you had an off sad.gif I plan to allow other cars past once through the corner where they are faster. (unless I can plan to allow them to past as soon as past the apex/exit but this is something I have got better at)
such a bummer Duke sad.gif

Sorry to hear that Duke - but happy to hear you got back out there and really enjoyed yourself.

I can sympathise and understand completely how intimidating it can be on your first track session when the powerful machinery comes up behind you.

Hope you get it fixed soon at a decent price and I hope I see you at a track day soon!

Chris

How about sourcing a second hand front wing (simple bolt-on job) and a second hand door (a little more complex to swap) and doing the work yourself to save some of the cost?

That would just leave the rear quarter panel to the experts - though looking at the video I would have thought you could push out the worst of the damage by removing the rear trim and gently persuading the bodywork from inside.

If you are careful, then anything you can do will help to bring that repair cost down:)

Yeah it looks likely I will need to at least try and push them out and see how it goes.

I have fixed the links for the videos now - make sure you install divx if you dont have it (www.divx.com)

Combe is very slippery in the wet; if it's any consolation I went off in the wet at Camp a few years ago at a very wet sprint, as did quite a number of experienced drivers. The trick is to 'get back on the horse', so to speak, analyse what you did wrong and build on that so that the same thing doesn't happen again. In this way you might be able to get something positive out of the experience when, for example, you remember not to lift off too abruptly when you enter a corner too fast in the wet.

Someone else I know did a Caterham experience at CC last weekend and ditched it as well! I don't feel so alone now tongue.gif

But seriously, you are right.. going back out was the best thing I did and even though my Puma is limping it was still one of the best days in years!

Well it's all fixed now - cost me about £1500 in total.. saved quite a bit doing as much as I could myself.

I must be mad though.. have already booked for another session in March 07!!!! biggrin.gif

You have my respect for pushing it over the limit on the track and not on the road...so you fight to live another day... cool.gif

Nice conditions! ohmy.gif
I've got to book my first one in the next month or so. Would have liked Castle Combe but it seems to be already booked up.

Hope the next one goes better!
