I was told that the rubber trim that surrounds the door is the cause of my leak. I don't fully believe this but I am happy to replace them. Can someone tell me where I can get the left and right door rubbers from. I have to say I never seen water coming in but it has had a second inspection which said so. I don't mind if it's a universal product , I just want a tight seal. Thank you. Jonathon

Did you try your Ford parts counter, I can recall the stock position on these parts.

sure it's not just the door weathersheild inside the door behind the door trim??

you'd see it really clearly if it was getting in through the door itself as it would be dripping down the glass

Chris , I am not sure about anything. I never seen water marks or water coming in but I was told that it did. I don't know what to believe. 2 separate mechanics 2 different views. I think the best way is to bring it to that ford garage specialist who does tuning in Beverly East Yorkshire near me for a final fix. I spent half the amount on the car that I paid. So I am starting to get annoyed with it. I am disabled and can't bend well, so removing the seats and carpets for me is impossible. I know it needs that. I had the car undersealed, and replace headlights etc. I just replaced a starter fuse for the first time. I now carry spares. I think that I will be looking for a larger car but smaller than my Jaguar to replace this soon. I have given it all the help I can. It's a fun car but that water ingress is killing me.

is it collecting in the footwell area?

if so which side..?

if it's drivers side, it's almost certainly where the seam sealant has cracked (due to corrosion) high up in the footwell area...

can be sealed off again with sealant...

passenger area is usually the wiring loom grommit...

water collecting after air-con use is obviously an aircon drain pipe issue

Regards

It's been collecting only in the front foot well of both driver's and passenger side. I don't have aircon. It's a older 1.4 . No abs either. To add insult to the cause, today I needed it. Hence my wife spending time over the weekend cleaning it and filling it up. But the damn window went down half way as I let it run to heat up. Then now it won't go up. It moved down but no up. Arghhhh, I feel this will soon be sent to its death by me and my cane or elbow crutches. My mechanic is picking it up to fix today. God damn it's annoying me.

Car has been picked up for repairs. Same mechanic, and friend who said the water leak. He told me that when sprayed with water it was coming in from potentially behind the door panels, so he is looking at it again. I will keep you posted

Car is back. Window issue was a broken wire. Easy fix. Door drains checked. Will monitor it as the seal on the window is tight with no cracks. Hmm mm
