Save your money and buy a Seat Leon instead - they even look similar.
For me the replacement date is probably August 2009 - that's when the new Lancia Delta comes here in RHD form. 1.9 190 bhp twin turbo diesel please.....
What it won't be is a replacement for the Puma. I still think the Suzuki Swift Gti is as close as you can get today.

They are great fun to drive, but do need a bit more upkeep.
The wife has a Diesel Toyota, which we use for "family" trips.
I'm not sure I would have one if it was the only car in the house hold.
My 1.7's were a lot more family friendly than Wugsy is.
You have to be a contortionist to get in the back.
Mk3 XR3i

Oh erm, thats absolutely horrid! It looks like a cheapo Chinese market car.
I wouldn't mind a Civic Type R for the next car if I can stretch to the insurance.

I've never owned an Italian car so I would just love one of these. So delightifully and skilfully designed...not brash, aggressive or fashionable.

The design is an aquired taste, the grill is just wrong and the colour really affects how it looks and it's proportions. What I don't understand is why they chose a cream one for the publiciy shots - it looks gopping. Silver or pale blue metalic with a satin black roof looks a bit more stylish in an Italian sort of way.
Not too bad in black either.

You have to own at least one italian car in your life to be a proper petrolhead. Clarkson will tell you it much be an Alfa but so long as it's impractical and unreliable that will do for me
Sadly that's the Fulvia concept they're almost certainly never going to manufacture. Based on Fiat Barchetta - itself a very good car. Shame they didn't do it in RHD it would have been a good rival to the MX-5

Why won't they make it? Why.......

I'd be happy with a heavily modded Puma, shocked how much the bug has bitten to be honest but I'd like something a bit newer and understated. I looked at the MKV R32 and S3 recently but they didn't really thrill me in the performance stakes, an EVO or a Spec C previous shape Impreza also ticks a few boxes but are a bit obvious and have an image problem. I considered an older 911 but I'd just be disappointed that I couldn't have the turbo.
Current thoughts are shifting towards an E46 M3 but this changes in a daily basis. What I really need is about £500,000 and a big garage so I can keep a rotation of cars and have a bit spare to swap and change to ones I just want to try out.
I haven't really answered the question... it's a struggle

Too expensive for cash strapped Fiat. Also Alfa is supposed to be the 'sporting' brand (odd, I don't remember them dominating the WRC) and it might step on their toes.
