Hello all, my son has had his puma for a couple of years and he's just paid out for a new clutch, MOT and some tyres, which set him back £600, today he spun the car and crunched the front and rear near side, at first glance the damage doesn't look too bad, he does need the following parts as far as i can see

nearside wing, front bumper, nearside headlight, and rear headlight and bumper..

There is also some damage on the front slam panel (this is the one where the bonnet clips into) does anyone know if this is bolted in - or welded - aslo if i could find an EPC for the car it'll be useful

If anyone knows where i can get hold of these parts too?

cheers all

Rob

Slam is welded.

What colour is it? I've got all of those but not a great choice of colour. Also need to know where you are to price it.

Got black ones.

Wing £30
Headlight £20
Rear light £10
Rear bumper £30

Don't have a suitable front bumper, nothing tidy enough to sell.

Rear quarter I'd also suggest going brand new for - that's a big job to fit and would certainly need painting.

Can I take a postcode and I'll quote for postage.

with it needing bumpers a wing and rear quarter you mite as well buy am frp kit from me ;)/> hahahahaha front and rear bumper, front wings, rear quarters and a splitter £650 posted to your door ;)/>

almost nothing is terminal and can be fixed it just depends on how much you/he loves the car and how much would it cost to fix or modify to a better standard. it looks to be the rear quarter that will be the hardest to correct but not impossible.

Cheers Kieran (FibreBuild)

I've seen them written off for a lot less than that.

All the bolt-on stuff wouldn't worry me but that quarter is going to be expensive to get right, I'd think you'd be in for at least £500 to sort that in a bodyshop before you've sourced the other bits.

Upper leg looks bent as well so the wing won't bolt straight on.

I could give you the shell bits but I would think the paint cost would take it past being viable.

What mileage is on it?

That's a shame about seeing another Puma going to the scrap yard. Like Ian said it would be a big job replacing the rear quarter panels.
I personally think you are going to struggle get much more than £150 in its condition. Does it have leather seats? and do you have much service history and paperwork?

How much is your son's insurance excess? As it might be worth getting a payout. I can offer you £130 but it depends which part of Cambridgeshire your from.

If you're scrapping it, take the good bits off first. Loom and ECU, don't forget the transponder out of the key, wheels you'd need to take off anyway. Set of locking wheels nuts, high level brake light, wiper stalks. Probably a few other minor bits but don't have it sitting there too long in case the neighbours complain :)

is the loom worth taking out - isn't that quite a big job?

What would the engine be worth.. is it worth me taking that out too?

Ful conversion kit is worth about £200-250 but its a big job and the high mileage stuff doesn't go out as fast so you might be sitting on it for weeks.

Loom/ECU/transponder is less of a job and mileage won't matter.

Air box, vacuum pipe etc.

Basically the kit contents individually but not to heavy stuff. Take a look at my Facebook notes for ideas on the list of stuff in the kit.

Break it and sell as parts.
