Here is the latest news on the Castle Combe gathering and parade at
the South West RSOC regional day, Saturday the 12th July 2003.

Ticket prices this year are £8.00 and £5.00 for entry to the Parade
making a combined total of £13.00. The £5.00 parade entry will be
donated to this years charity, which is the Meningitis Trust.

It looks like 50 FRPs will be our limit for the infield parking this
year, due to space. I currently have 55 firm requests, and I will
endeavour to accommodate all these, but only on the basis that
everyone pays in advance, to guarantee their attendance.

So, if you are one of the owners listed at the bottom of the e-mail,
I would request that you send me a cheque for £13 for the minimum
of ONE ticket and ONE parade entry to confirm a place for you and
your FRP. This will also help reduce the backlog at the gates, as 50
FRP's buying entry tickets will create quite a queue, plus it will
save me collecting the Parade lap cash on the day. Obviously, if you
plan on bringing one ore more passengers, then you will need to add
an additional £8 for each of them.

The FRP Castle Combe t-shirt will also be available this year, as
will a DVD recording the FRP events of the day, like was produced
last year.

These items will only be produced for those who want request them
beforehand.

Prices are as follows:

Commemorative DVD - £15 (will be sent out after the event)
Commemorative T-shirt - £12 (please state what size)

If you would like either of these, then add it to your ticket and
parade lap costs.

Due to the volume of parking we need for the Racing Pumas, we cannot currently get the Std Puma's into the paddock area.

Please don't let this put you off coming though, just some of you are going to have to park in the normal car park areas.

Only live about 8 miles from Chippenham, so me and the recently aquired puma might just pop over.

Ed, for us lesser mortals  is it a straight £8 for entry, and is that payable at the gate? (hoping to attend just to see 50 odd FRPs in one place).

Yep, gate entry is a straight £8 per person. Unfortunately, the FRP's will be parked seperately as the organisers are using a particular paddock area for them.

On the day we should have 60+ FRP's on display 8)

There should also be about 30 odd Focus RS's...not that exciting..but should make proceedings rather blue.. biggrin.gif

Message to Castle Combe attendees with video cams

I will hopefully be creating a multi-angle DVD for the Castle Combe event and I will be requiring the assistance of some of you lot!

If any of you are filming the parade lap and you are willing to contribute towards footage I'm planning to use on the DVD look out for me at Combe and have a word ;-) I have at least 5 different angles already in mind but more wouldn't hurt.

I will need to borrow your tapes (Mini DV format only please) but will return them to you as soon as I am done with them. In return if I use any of your footage you can buy the Castle Combe DVD at a preferential price :-)

Try and catch me at the beginning of the day if you can so as to avoid last minute rushing around!

Thanks,

Don't rate the Alfa much to be honest, has a front end like Hannibal Lecter and IMHO I'd rather save a few K and get a Leon Cupra R, CTR or FRS.

Or, if I ate cakes and pies all day, a Golf R32!

I have to agree with Colin on that one, at least people will get out your way when they see Hannibal in their rear view mirror wink.gif

In this age of speed cameras on every corner and random police camera vans I'm quite certain that my next car won't be one that you feel obliged to drive at ridiculous speeds just to justify it's existence...I can't see why I'd want one of the above for any other reason.

But you'd drive the Alfa slowly around, looking really menacing, with the V6 grumling away...nothing to prove cos you know you've got the Barry White (bless his cotton socks) of engines with the body of an angel  ...IMHO of course...

Hi all,

I think the FRP stuff is fully sorted..I'd just like to know who is coming in Std Pumas, and if you are, will you be coming to Safeway on Saturday morning.

I will have tickets available for you to buy if you are.
