Having bought two new sills my question is - do I, or can I rustproof the inside of the sills before they are welded on?
I do understand that the edges to be spot welded will need to be bare metal.
It would seem logical to rustproof them off the car first but then I'm no welder.

My sills that are on the car I used long lances with multi direction head to spray the inside of them using all the wiring access points.

Why not ask the person you are going to use for the work?
My repair panels I have sprayed with a zinc primer I have from Bilt Hamber.

I am not doing the welding.
My spare panels from Ford are black painted so they don't even come bare metal.
If you know who will be doing the work then you could ask them.

I am using Bilt & Hamber Electrolux, it's a heavy zinc primer.

As mentioned use the lance and cavity wax you can't treat them before as two reasons you need clean shiny metal to weld and your welder will be pee'd offf with you for giving him more work!
I build cars for a living so know the work involved

Engine, no point great body if engine goes pop. MOT might drive bodywork priority though.
