How the bloody hell do ya get the cable through that gromit!?

poke a hole in it with a screwdriver.

Just make sure that

1) the gromit is back properly,

2) that you cover the hole with bath sealer.

The windscreen drain is right above it.

Easy way to get the cable doen is to tape it to a small pea stick, makes fishing around at the back of the foot well a lot less hassle

What wont? the cable taped to a pea stick (thin dowel)?

Dont push too hard, and it may be easier if you can bribe some young kid off the street to put his hand up behind the dash from the passenger footwell to grab the stick.

Thats when having a "Ben" in your toolkit comes in handy

I get it about 30cm in and still cant find it. Think i need a new gromit!

Hmmm, you may have gone into the back of the dash behind the glove box.

Take the glove box door of, top left hand corner, is there a cut out at the back (There is on Tiggr, but thats cos the 2 ECU's sit in the glove box and SVM may have cut into the back of it) ? you may find it there
