Just collected my 98R from huge mot pass, however the airbag light is flashing, after reading a few posts, I gather it's connected to seat been removed. Is there a solution to this? Drivers airbag only in this puma. I have a new /old seat to replace the original, miscellaneous wires underneath. Any advice would be great.

There is a safety system wire connection clip under the seat, you must disconnect the battery before handling the wires etc. Disconnect for at least 30 minutes you really do not want an airbag or pretensioner to fire, if in doubt take it to somewhere that knows. I have no idea if safety wiring is compatible across different seats.

Did you already take your seat out?

Thanks for the reply, the mot welder took out both seats to remove carpet, so I guess the battery wasn't disconnected! Can this be solved as a diy job? Thanks.

It is for safety reason you disconnect the battery.

Maybe the wires weren't connected again or they are damaged.
If this light has been on since collection then why not take your car back.

Remember to have your audio code to hand for when you reconnect your battery.
I can't recall if you have the tape or cd player.
