First of all we had the fire brigade round for training:

I couldnt be bothered to walk up the stairs:

They then did some precision exercises in tight spaces:

and then the idiots arrive in the car park.

First of all 2 muppets who for some reason think its cool to put on foriegn style plates on thier UK registered cars, even down to the country flag being non uk.

I really dont get why they do that. theyll love the £30 fine next time they pass a traffic cop!!! Idiots!!!

And then the chav cars !!!! Yeah nice corsa NOT!!

home made number plate lamp:

Then this crashed car arrived:

what a surprise - out of date tax!!

and Chav wreck of the day:

Dont you just love the primer:

didnt even mask the numberplate!!!

oh and broken windscreen:

surprise surprise no tax!!!

and a deliberately covered dash VIN plate!!

This is the safest car park in stoke and most patrolled by DVLA, police etc so either they are all stupid or theres just that many dodgy cars in the stoke area!!! laugh.gif

It might be due to the area being deprived as well Kate. The tax dodgers come to about 5% in the county but a recent survey in one of the main poor estates (Bentilee - war zone!!) showed that almost 50% of the vehicles parked in the area were untaxed or un MOT'd or uninsured. The problem being is a lot of vehicles are not registered properly or not to an accurate address etc etc and the sheer scale of the problem means DVLA cant go an take all the vehicles off the road as its just not practical as youd need a fleet of car transporters to do it!!!

DVLA come into our carpark regularly to clamp tax dodgers so we put warning notices on all taxed cars as if a cars clamped, then we have to let the damn thing out when its eventually unclamped after all the fines and release fees are paid, and thats usually after working hours!! So hassle for us!!! All because they cant be bothered to pay thier tax!!

Theres one guy who works in the centre whose tax expired in march and hasnt retaxed it because it failed its MoT. We put a warning on his car everyday and hes complained about being targetted by us laugh.gif so i explained to him that his car shouldnt legally be there if he was driving legally!! He then moans saying he needs his car to get to work, then asked him where he drove from, which he replied was "stoke" which is 10 minutes by bus and has at least 6 buses per hour from 7am.......... so hes got no excuse to drive!!!!

I thought they were supposed to take the car away and crush it?

no not straight away. They seem to clamp for 24-48 hours then tow it away and crush it (or sell it) after 7 days. They are required to give reasonable opportunity for people to pay up.

Its different on public roads as they can tow the car away straight away if they so choose.

The only reason they can come onto the private land that is the car park, is because the law was changed last year so they can do so on car parks that have access from public roads. This is because no one can use this car park for any purpose except parking up after leaving the public road. Its all to do with the use of the land. So for example they wouldnt clamp your car if it was in a garage compound or on your drive/garden.

I only comment when they deserve the cruelty biggrin.gif

Most of these idiots are only here to collect thier benefit giro, (giro rather than direct to bank so that they can avoid paying fines and debts!! Theyve made pensioners all get bank/post office accounts for benefits so why not force al scroungers and criminal scum to do the same?? one rule for us? one for them??), or shoplift.

Its funny because most of the criminals whove shoplifted are barred, but because theyve shut all the local and main post offices, we have to let them in to WHsmith to get thier giros!!! so they get escorted in and out by security!!! Usually while thier other banned mates wait in the car or by the doors. Then they have the cheek to try and avoid the £1.10 parking charge. (they know they can get upto 10 minutes free so they get upset when a que in post office pushs them over 10 mins and they have to pay!!!!).

The best one ive had for a long time was today!! A group of travellers came in looking for scrap (in a patrolled car park laugh.gif) and overran the 10 minutes free parking due to traffic so they got all shirty about paying to get out! The woman went to pay then threw a wobbly claiming shed put a tenner in the machine and it had swallowed it. She then proceeded to show us a receipt shed picked up off the floor with the time on it from an hour ago as her "proof". now the way the machines work it is physically impossible for the machine to swallow cash without "completing the transaction" and resissuing the exit gate chip. We checked the machine and funnily enough found no jammed note and then got the CCTV to check if shed even paid and it showed her walking up to machine and picking up reciept off the floor!! laugh.gif rumbled!!!!!!!!! So we politely informed her we know she was trying it on and she gets even more upset and we call more security so she pays then turns and says to me "I'm putting a curse on you and your family" roflmao.gif roflmao.gif roflmao.gif WTF is she smoking?? laugh.gif

I don't know about debts, but fines can be deducted from benefits before people get them, Warren. There is a maximum that can be taken a week though, and I won't raise your blood pressure by telling you how much it is! wink.gif
