After nearly 10 years I have finally part exchanged my Puma for a Subaru BRZ. I know I haven't been the most active person on here but I have loved every minute of driving my Puma and kept it even after getting a company Golf that was so dull that I still kept my Puma for weekends and it became my daily again when I was made redundant.

As the Puma was 13 years old I was losing a battle with the rust and the costs were stacking up when it developed an oil leak and with it needing new tyres, exhaust, battery etc

As for the record I think it was doing well as it still started first time no trouble with the original motorcraft battery that is 13 years old!

I would really like another Puma at some point but for now it's goodbye although I will probably lurk for a while

Wow 13 years, I had to replace mine again a couple weeks ago so in my 15 year old Puma I am on the third. I think though the low miles don't help batteries last.
Hope the replacement lives up to the Puma. :-)

I'd be interested to know how the BRZ/GT86 stacks up against the Puma.

Hi Peter
Hope your Puma is running well for you.
Can't see anything to tempt me away from my Puma.

Hi Kat...

Likewise...don't plan on getting rid of it..ever...still gives me a smile on my face any time I can get the keys of it away from my wife....lol
Just has a few things that I need to get sorted on it....and will be as good as new again...
I was hoping that a new model of it may have been introduced...but can still dream..although..the new mustang did get my attention when introduced this year over here.....
Peter.

The BRZ does feel bigger around town than the Puma, although the steering has a similar feel to it - I regularly drive hire cars for work and find so many cars have stupidly light steering - the previous model Seat Leon being horrible with no feeling to the steering at all very much like driving on ice. I do find I have to work through the gears where I would just my foot down coming out of motorway roadworks but have to drop down to 3-4th in the BRZ. The reaction from people on the road is interesting, the BRZ turns lots of heads (probably as in 3 months of ownership other than 1 or 2 GT86's a week I haven't seen another on the road!) and I find myself getting let out at junctions very quickly (which is always appreciated :) ) Fuel economy is not as good but not as bad I thought and the boot is wider but not as deep as in the Puma.

I did not see my Puma go up for sale but noticed it is now has 12 months tax on again :) so BT02XJU lives on, anyone here seen it?

Golfs about as exciting as watching Dot Cotton suckling on a fag! You defo made the right call there by keeping your Puma as you'd have died of boredom within a week driving that everyday ;-) You're going to miss it :-/
