I am off into hospital tomorrow (8 hours time) and am s**ting myself about it...
Only going to have a wisdom tooth out but i have been warned they may need to break / dislocate my jaw to do it.... and have been told to expect the right hand side of my face to swell and go black/blue with brusing.....
They are doing it under a general, so at least i will be asleep for it......the last time i was in hospital was when i was 8....

I really hate hospitals, doctors, etc and am thinking NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo

Oh well, i suppose the pain i have been in for months will soon be gone.... but i imagine it will hurt like fcuk for a week or so....

Not happy and not looking forward to it... is it really this bad.... its a bottom tooth which i am told is worse..... panic.... run away lol

I feel better now.... (Honest)

Good luck mate.hope it goes well for you.

I remember a few years ago when i had to have an operation in hospital where they had to drill into the side of my skull to get at a growth behind my eardrum - i was absolutely cacking myself to point where i was seriously considering not going!!! - all sorts of things were going through my head (mostly negative things like "what if it all goes wrong"..."what if i dont wake up afterwards" etc etc) but thankfully i went through with it and it was all a success.

Just keep positive and think of how relieved you'll be when its all over and you've healed.

You'll be fine. try not to worry too much.

It's not the doctors, it's the nurses you want to watch, I know what they're like!!!!!

Don't scrimp on the painkillers. and don't worry if you wake up 'aggressively' this often happens after dental surgery for some reason

All i can say is OUCH, F'in OUCH !!!!!!

Just before i went in, the specialist came to see me and informed me he would need to cut very deep (His words) and remove part of the jaw bone sad.gif
At this point if i would have eaten anything it would of came out of my a**e but seeing as i had been starving myself it didnt smile.gif

Seriously, they knocked me out with an huge injection and when i woke up..... oh my god.... PAIN !!!

i am still struggling to move my jaw more than 1cm....... and its still bleeding..... which is horrid as blood tastes foul.....
The pain killers are doing there job but i need to let the 'hole' clot before i can rinse / clean my mouth..... and i really want to clean my teeth......

The side of my face is swollen and i feel like poo...... but on the plus side..... Errrrr im sure there is a plus side....

Oh and i am bloody starving but cant open my mouth to eat anything..... the wife is happy as i havent smoked for 26 hours... lol

it will get better biggrin.gif and hope it is soon
blood and cig smoke tastes absolutely foul puke.gif plus cigs make healing slower, so it could be helping you that you can't open your mouth too wide

searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Awwww - poor you. Hope it heals quickly (or you will be needing a size smller in clothes!! )

I went to the dentist for preparation for a crown. After 2 injections I was still flinching so she gave it up as a bad job and filled it instead. sad.gif
