Hello puma people :)

I need your help with something, I ordered a headlight block just a few minutes ago on Ebay and I just noticed it is from the UK. Does anyone know if it is compatible with the left wheel Pumas from other EU countries?

Thanks,
Bogdan

Pretty sure they are different part numbers.

What is wrong with your current lamp? I suspect it is only the inner part that is different, outside part will be the same.

Thank you for your reply. They have different code numbers on the Bosch manufacturer page. My headlight was scratched really bad and the joints are broken, the internal parts are ok.

The headlight unit comes apart into several peices.
I sugget that you swap the new lense cover over to your existing light unit. Though check that it looks OK and the same shape etc. as your existing lense cover.
The headlight units are different for LHD and RHD. Whilst a LHD can be made to point OK for driving in the UK, and vice versus. The unit light pattern will not be completely correct.

Wow, thank you for the reply happy-kat :) I will swap just the cover if it doesn't fit. Just to be sure, what do you mean by "the unit light pattern will not be completely correct"? What exactly could be different?

The shape of the light will be different, even if it points in basically the right direction.

A member bought a UK Puma with lights that kept causing problems due to where they pointed and lack of being able to correctly adjust them.
It was during that episode that we learned that in fact there are two light units for the Puma, and the adjusters are not enough to correct the light unit to be used in the other destined driving side.

If I buy two from the UK, can't I just switch the lenses between them? I've never opened one but I bet they can be taken off.. I'll have to wait for the weekend to find the time to open up mine.

Bring the unit into your house, allow the plastic time to get warm. If cold it is brittle and more likely to snap etc.

It will fit, difference will be with lense pattern and alignment adjustment range.

The Light unit internals for beam direction/shape is different for LHD Pumas to RHD.
I would not suggest you use a RHD Puma healight unit for use in a LHD country.
It is not possible to use the available adjustors on the headlight unit to manually make a LHD work in the UK (RHD) therefore I would assume that you could not make a RHD unit work correctly for you.
You might be fitting a modifacation to make the light brighter/stronger but that is no use if the actual light beam is not where you need it for LHD.
