Ok so i want a brand spanking new brake setup.

I like my Mondy 280mm setup...BUT...it has spaces and i don't like the feeling of having 'spacers' behind the discs.

Which brake setups can be transplanted onto the Puma, that require an M12 hole, directly?

I already have an M12 hole for the caliper carriers aswell as running standard 15" Prop alloys too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated biggrin.gif

HiSpec Billet4 280 mm is an option (important to check clearance between disk and wheel).

I believe the ST150 setup would have been a straight swap, if you had not drilled the hubs from 10mm to 12mm... too late now though sad.gif

Bugger!

What fits an M12 hole then?

I'm not 100% happy with my current setup sad.gif

Would you be able to get some 12OD / 10ID sleeves and fit M10 ones again?

I have no clue what you just said. And have no clue if that would work or hold during heavy braking sad.gif

Sell someone your brakes, complete with hubs and have their hubs.

Do you know the missions it would take to get my hub off and then swap it over and have their crappy wheel bearings in it?......LONG!

Nice idea in theory though.

My brake setup doesn't feel right, too much vibration now, maybe just warped discs but they are brand new and only a few months old sad.gif

The exact same setup you have (280mm mondeo V6) has been used on my competition car for the last 2 1/2 years without problems (though I do use race pads and fluid). Never had any issues which you described, maybe a wheel is buckled, one of the 4 spacers is not 100% flat or there is muck trapped between any of the mating surfaces. Its very unlikely to be warped discs.

Ok i'll double check everything when i take it all apart and clean it all up and put it back together again.

I only have 2 spacers.....1 behind each brake disc on the hub itself.

I am using mintex Brake Pads (brand new), Escort Cossie Discs (brand new) as the discs i got with the kit did not fit properly.

Wasn't there a post a month or two ago about fitting Cossie calipers, but needing to use Cougar discs as the EsCos ones didn't fit properly? I'll see if I can find it...

I'm just unhappy with my setup to be honest.

i thought it'd all be eay and good but its orrible.

i reckon i need to clean up the bits and bob's get brand new spacers and then some new discs too.

If that doesn't fix it then i'll go back to standard until i can afford to buy a decent upgrade! sad.gif

i can vouch for the veracity of that comment. i've got turby's old v6 set up now it feels like i have effective brakes. may well be worth checkin everything is centred, straight, level, not buckled etc etc, cause i'd hazard a guess an say you should be happy with those brakes.

All my bits came off eBay but were fitted by people with machining tools, shotblasting cabinets, proper vehicle lifts and access to the correct type of fittings and the tools to fit them. Guess what, no problems whatsoever (and I'm still using boggo standard Bendix pads at the mo, perfectly effective).

Sometimes you might have to spend a bit more dosh to make up for your own lack of knowledge...basically leave it to the pros to sort it out...especially brakes ja_stupid.gif You might have all the right bits but you might not know how to do it right...
