Looks very nice, bar the insulating tape ;)
I pusume that there was quite a wieght saving in doing this effort?
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Had enough of doing this today, so thats how I left it. If you leave the tape on the floor it has a strange habit of attacking you!!!!!.......lol
Window switches in tommorow and then Im going to attack the other door.

If anyone is interested ill do a step by step guide with pics if you want, might come in handy for someone!!!

The cards are from performance trim and hardly weigh anything, the trims and lighter mirrors im fitting should compensate for the plumbed in fire extinguisher ive just fitted.

i have just read this thread and love the car.

i have been thinking recently about the possibility of turboing my 1.7.

is there anywhere i can get a list of everything i would need to get. parts wise.

i mean i know pistons, ecu, turbo and stuff but its all the little bits you dont realise.

and i do also quite like the big spoiler and even more so if it actually works at keeping the back end more stable??

sorry for the questions but it just seems that your car engine wise is the closest i have found to what i want to achieve.:D

cheers jamie

:o Thats a HUGE amount of extra power..if it's at the wheels...

so you'd added approx 100hp to the engine then...

awesome!..

Any info you need please let me know. The only advise I can give you is stay away from ebay cheap crap, it will come back and bite you!!

Mines back down at the mappers for more tweeking and I may switch the ECU for another make!!!.

Toby gave me some good advise and hes a good brain to pick aswell.

Ill try and do a list of stuff I have if you like!!!!

Chris, the mapper reckons this is a good strong engine (wonder who built it), so wants to play around with it a bit more. Its only running .8 bar boost aswell, but will be raised !!!!!

Toby's is near 300hp so mines still a mear baby compared to his.

i would imagine that to be a peak estimated flywheel figure tho..?

i guess it's down to what you can keep on the floor...

must be fun on some proper trackday rubber i bet... :woot2: :woot2:

I'm taking the Nitrous down to Bedford on Monday...should be good if the weather holds reasonable..

It does tend tend to be a bit wild on tight circuits but a different car on fast circuits.

Do you have a trailer attatched to the FRP to carry the NOS bottles....................lol

I know your a big lover of NOS!!!!!

If the mapper saw 220BHP at the wheels, then that is what he actually measured - my guesstimate is around 260ish at the flywheel.

I've backed mine off to around 285 again - seems 2nd gear in the standard box can't take the torque :( Might up it later after a few events as its got a brand new FRP box which has uprated 1st/2nd gear ;)

Anyone want to buy me a proper FWD box ? ;)

Toby was sort of torque is yours producing and for how long, mines at 240lbs ft from 4400rpm and holding it to 6500rpm

My peak torque is at 5000 rpm around 275 lbs ft, through is very "peaky" compared to yours. Power wise it remains above 260+ from 5k through to the red line at 7250

There is an old power / torque chart on here somewhere, which is before we upped the boost a bit more :)

You seen the price of them?? :o

Ive been looking at prices for upgrading my box now 3rd has destroyed it self and its looking at £8k plus if i went down the dog engagement motorsport box route!! I think a recon standard box and turning down the boost is a better idea for the time being!!

1.2 bar, with minor spike on gear change to 1.4 before the ECU brings it back down via boost controller. Could of course remap the boost controller user PID strategy but that would mean another trip to the rollers for a minimal gain

Presumably thats 200bhp at the flywheel, which should be round about 175bhp at the wheels. If so a standard box will be fine Matey!!! or a FRP box would be nice!!
