no idea about safety and/or insurance implications but a good auto aplosterer may be able to shave an inch or two from the seat base foam ja_stupid.gif or even prepare you a seperate foam base to just use on track days ja_stupid.gif
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Al
Thinking back you can't go the sunroof route as we decided in an earlier thread that you were going to bolt the spare wheel to the roof a-la Safari rally. Can't give any further advice unfortunately as Mrs B has the opposite problem with V4 she has to sit on a cushion to see over the steering wheel quite frightening if she's driving towards you as the car looks to be self propelled, perhaps I should buy her a fluorecent skid lid so she'll stand out!

Al i have a seat you can try in your car, it is from the old Ka Rally car which are side mount so they should drop low enough for you but it will mean swaping it for track days

cheers al that is really good news.

i take it that the seat will drop down a bit then??

probably needs to go about an inch.

will pm you in a bit me old matey. 10.gif

its strange as me and chris yesterday tried a few things with the seat ( not them sort of things, perverts) roflmao.gif and i just seem to sit too high.

we are about the same height well im about 1 inch taller but he seems to sit lower in the seat, we also checked i am right down in the seat. bloddy long torso i have ranting2.gif ranting2.gif roflmao.gif

david was saying something about you can get runners that just bolt straight to the floor and the seat would slide on these???? like the m3 csl.

another seat is the thing im gonna go for and just swop it over for when im going out on track 10.gif 10.gif

hopefully it wont take to long once i get the hang of it. wink.gif

Get a custom subframe made up as the ford one is a bit high.

Or buy a base mount bucket seat for track days and just bolt it in the day before.

might be a squeeze getting my big arse in a bucket seat lol roflmao.gif

Mr AIS FRP...

I have a pair of Sparco Evo fixed buckets in blue (removeable covers, FIA approved, etc)... Not sure if they have base mounts (i'd have to check)... but when they were in my Puma with side mounts the driving position was like a kart. Forget about hearing those crackles and pops, u could feel em thru the seat of ur pants!

Not too sure how u'd get to see/try em tho being so far away, and me being such a regular meet attender!

Or do what you have to do first thing in the morning as we can be about an inch shorter first thing in the morning! good.gif
VW Golf MK V R32 - Outstanding car for all occasions
Ford Racing Puma #148 - What can I say that hasn't already been said about these cars?
Merc CLK 320 - Good Points - Comfortable, Bad Points - Comfortable!
Subaru Impreza Turbo WRX STI Type RA - 4 doors, 5 seats, a boot and 0-60 in 4.3! It doesn't get much better!
VW Golf MK2 GTI 16v Special (celebrating the 10 millionth Golf) - my baby, shouldn't have sold her
Pug 205 GTI 1.9 - an even bigger hoot!
Pug 205 GTI 1.6 - a hoot!
VW Beetle (new one from Mexico) - really quite good
1962 Mini 800 - always breaking down

Middlesbrough... about 45m south of Newcastle (u-tyne)... so a fair way!

I'll need to take a look at one see if there's base mounting holes tho when i am next down where they're stored... if there is, then i reckon few mins to fit em. Tis dead easy with the side mounts... but obviously that's no good... lol.

Would be no probs just lettin one go... they're sat there at the min doing nowt... tho i had an idea about turning the ZS into a van and using em in that... but that aint gonna happen... not at mo any rate.

It's an inch taller in the morning. People shrink slightly throughout the day as their spines compress under bodyweight, and then it all stretches out again when they sleep.

I've often had to adjust the interior mirror slightly because of this!
