Have changed bulbs in both headlamps in the last year, and am a bit mystified by the short length of rubber hose attached to the back of each headlamp unit. It may be that the other end was connected to something and was pulled off as I removed the headlamp unit, but I'm not aware of it, and can't see anything obvious they should be connected to. I presume they vent the space inside the headlamp unit.... but could anyone please tell me what if anything they should be connected to?

it is the head lamp vent hose, this is what helps to minimise condensation in the head light
you will find a small nozzle on the back of the unit to refit it to

it reads like you pulled the hose off what it should have been left connected to when you removed the head light unit

Thanks for this - yes, the hoses are connected to the back of the headlamp units, I just wondered if the other end is supposed to be connected to something?.... or do the hoses just hang loose from the back of the headlamps?

The head lamp hoses should be left connected inside the engine bay and when you remove the headlight you ease the hose off as you gently remove the headlight unit.

As your hoses are on the headlight unit they have been pulled off their engine bay connector.

For removal guide (also covers conversion to left hand drive but ignore that bit).

Very easly Pumas ones didn't have the vented design and suffered badly from condensation in the units, it was an early production change. As I have never pulled my hose off I have never needed to see what and where the other end fixes to. Hope you can locate where to fix the hose back onto.

They're not connected at the other end, just vent to air flow.
