Hi

Just negotiating but think we will be a proud owner of a 1.7 puma tonight

All the tyres have about 2,5mm on them so looking for advice on best tyre certainly for the front which is the best combination of price and performance.

They will be to use in general dry and wet weather
thanks

I've got a set of bridgestone potenza re002 tyres on my puma and they are superb. Lot's of grip in both wet and dry and they don't make a lot of noise. Friend of mine has got some Toyo proxes on his turbo mx5 nb (similar weigth and also a sporty car) and he sais they make a lot more noise than the bridgestone potenza's he used to have. Other friend of mine also got bridgestone potenza on his lexus is200 with a 1jz swap. he's also loving these tyres.
IMHO you can't go wrong with bridgestone potenza's.
Also heard some good things about pirrelly p-zero's but they seem to be very loud. Cant tell from my own experience tho.

I have been through many a set of tyres on a fair number cars and, tbh, as long as you are paying reasonable dollar and doing day to day driving or even "spirited" driving (as I regularly do) they are much of a muchness.

Yes, yes, yes on a professional race car driver, in a race car with 600hp that's completing flat out laps then between your Pirellis, Goodyears, Bridgestones, Michelines or Dunlops then there may be 2-3 seconds between their lap times...

Posted Image Don't ever be tempted to buy the cheap budget tyres, they suck and any "spirited" driving lands you in a ditch. (I tried 2 brands of cheap tyres at half the price of quality brands, nearly killed me on 2 occasions)

Bridgestones, pirelli, Goodyear (I'ma Goodyear man) if you can spare the expense.

But Falken, Khumo or Toyo will suffice for a Puma
