Interesting, I didn't know there was anything like this this far away from Civilised Society.

I'll see what my plans are closer to the date. I also wouldn't want my Millenium to show up the fancier metal, arf. ;)

Should be going to this unless the weather is really bad, not sure if I'll be in Koshka or not yet though.

Quick write up, scribbed from the Evo Forum:
http://community.evo...?threadID=85773

So, after waking up at the right time (shock one) without a scabby hangover (shock two) I tabbed over to that purveyor of (allegedly) overpriced Porkers, Specialist Cars of Malton for their Easter Sunday Charity meet thingy.

Not much to tell other than loads of exotic, rare, expensive and curious machinery, from Fiat 500 Abarths, Talbot rally cars, to Countachs, Astons, lots of 911s, and the odd GT1 race car.

Didn't really speak to anyone, other than a chap who reckoned his mates VX was more yellow than my Puma. He was right. I blamed the T-cut, and bid them adieu.

So, some piccies:
Damn you autofocus
Posted Image

The noises when these two were jostling for position was immense - the Countach coughing, farting and barking, the Murkylager whooping and growling. Pretty intense. Obviously broke the autofocus on the phone.

Took a left turn at La Sarthe, never to be seen again:
Posted Image
This thing was driving the kids wild. All sorts of screams about it being a Zonda R, or a Maclaren MP-4 GT3 car Thingy. Nope, Pulse GT1 - road registered, if you don't mind :o It wasn't a quiet thing either.

Ray of Sun..er, Beam.
Posted Image

Did Jean Todt compete in these? It's a proper original rally car too, not a replica, I overheard the owner saying to someone.

Pig-iron in disguise!
Posted Image

One for Yu. Monster presence in the metal, bloody huge thing. Didn't get to hear it running though.

Capri-sun
Posted Image

Not much I have to add to this - original competition car, with various bits of info on it's competition history on laminate sheets in the back window. Gorgeous.

Tangerine Dream
Posted Image

Why justify a picture of an orange Tamora? And why can no-one make cars this plain gorgeous any more?

Gloves off
Posted Image

Note the correctly coloured hand warmers. Even people who were saying they were a bit meh about old Lambos admitted that this colour, those wheels, and those gloves were awsume.

Wheely good
Posted Image

Yeah, the wheels were orange too - proper brutal, retina stabbing combination.

Hide and seek:
Posted Image

I saw this parked up and had to go keep it company. Another Millenium Puma, but this one was rather tatty:
Posted Image

The only bits on there that aren't rust are the rear bumper scrapes, and that's only because it's plastic. My car is a mint example by comparison :( Other rear arch had pretty much disintegrated, front of the bonnet was brown-bubbled and it probably won't make another MOT without welding first - probably another one for the scrapheap then :(

Pick your weapon
Posted Image

Marcos Mayhem, with added GT-R bonus content in the background.

Oof:
Posted Image

Which is pretty much what I said to myself when this pulled up. Snarly, angry little thing.

Open wide:
Posted Image

962 Bellof edition, or whoever it was who helped design it. Really <beep>ing shiny, and clean as a whistle under the hood. Turbos are practically in the side wing pods just aft of the rads/interwarmers, gearbox at the back, proper crazy stuff to see that layout in the metal/carbon.

Car Park found:
Posted Image

This was the car park for the fastest cars around - yellow ones. And no, my car isn't that faded, the TVRs colour is a bit more saturated to the eye too, but the phones camera is a bit poor at white balance and exposure!

All in all a worthwhile morning methinks, banged £10 into the charity box for coffee and a sausage sarnie, worth it for getting to lick so many nice windows in such a short space of time - I think if everyone else did the same, they'd have raised a good sized pot for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance - all good. There must have been around 5000 people there, and well over 300 cars, and that's just the special stuff, never mind Boxsters, 911s, M3/5s etc of which there were plenty.

Didn't see any 944 owners I could harass, although a couple of nice Ss and S2s, and a mint 924 Turbot were floating around.

Maybe next year, eh?

For what it's worth there was an FRP there, but I didn't see the owner, and my car was parked weeeellll out of the way at that point, as I turned up when it was packed, and got stuck in a TVR traffic jam (those TVRs seem to need a lot of blipping, arf) and decided to head to the other side and walk.

If it was anyone on here, it was a delicious thing. My car....less so, but better than the other milly that was there!

If it was an frp on its own it was mine! There were two more parked up together at the far side of the industrial estate, i saw your millenium as i walked down that road a long way from the centre!
FRP 038 - R.I.P killed by an old man in his toyota avensis.
FRP 245 - sold, then killed by new owner!
FRP 225 - sold in 2013 and regretted it ever since!FRP ??? - Now after another one after two years of Fiesta ST2 ownership.

Ah, that one that was 'backed in' out of the pair (on the left as you looked into the parking area), that was mine - the other one was very sheddy, with near punctured rear left arch and a full rust 'tache on the bonnet :( - you saw it when it was drizzling, right?

I moved the car three times out there as parking improved!

I think I might have walked past you as you left the car - I was wearing the black jeans, black scabby leather jacket, black jumped and carrying a camera bag and a roll up.

I may have licked your windows, your FRP looked box fresh!

I didn't see the FRPs on the ramps (or the ramps themsevles - down near where all the Nissans and Evos were?) - but it's nice to know I've been spotted.

Recognition at last!

And you can tell Julie she's right, it's a Scarborough car. That other Millie there was in an awful state, the rust you can see on Zaras pic above is the worst on mine. the other one however...

eek!

my laptop is being extremely gay, tried to upload them all (156) on Photobucket but kept failing.. meh! the album is public so thought youd be able to see it anyways :derr:

I'll keep trying though and get them up :)

I'm usually like that tbh with the cleanliness as I even gave it a wipe over before I arrived at the meet point :roflmao: but figured the drive would be a good laugh especially with the distance id already travelled. Should try get yourself to a few meets if you can plenty of us out there :good:

@Steve - that poor Millie was in terrible condition :( Julie has and MSB puma and think shes from that area so may spot her about.

As long as it's being used as it's intended, that's fine. Note the interior, heavy smoker, car obviously gets used as a second home!

Julie - MSB puma? Tell me more, what is an MSB puma?

I see a few Pumas about, never get much recognition as up here they're common as much - one on every other street. There's three millys within ten miles of me, that's how common they are :roflmao:

I'm on FB, tap me up if you feel the need - I'm always up for a run/thrash/coffee/etc, providing notice is given!

I'll have a deek for that colour, it's pretty interesting, not seen many of that ilk around here...

Time to get my stalking coat on  Tell Julie to feel free to return the favour - I'm often in Mill Street/ Norwood Street/Hampton Road/Belle Vue Street if that helps :D

Argh, this is the first one I've missed for two years and each time in the past I've posted on here, with no puma interest. The time I miss it, most of the forum turns up! Next time!
