is this noise only audible when the heater is anywhere between min and max?
If so then this is a known/common problem.
Had this with both my Puma's, though left it as is in the FRP.

Thanks, will check the heater and let you know.

if it is that, is there anything I can do or do i just live with it.

yes, but I just live with mine, and after 2 years the heater still has not failed...
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Mine has the knock (gentle thump??) too but usually only when it is very cold and been left overnight. It isn't affected by the setting of the heater controls at all. Sounds like it's coming from somewhere to the right of the drivers side, kind of low down. Weird???

Have checked the heater as suggested and yep, you are right, when its on either cold or hot setting there is no noise but anywhere in between and the noise varies. Think I will learn to live with it as well.
Cheers for the tip
