Don't be silly, they aren't fog lamps, they are additional driving lamps

sorry, just stating a fact, that you told me.

IMO, it would be silly to put driving lamps inside the engine bay

a fog lamp would give a better wide spread of light

The Haynes Fiesta Manual (3397) can answer a lot of your questions.

Years ago, I used to have a light fitted under the bonnet of my Escort Mk1 rally car.
A slim reversing light was fixed to the bracing of the bonnet, (and if I remember correctly) which was wired to a panel inside the car, with a switch and a warning light (didn't want to light the engine bay whilst driving along - could have been mistaken for a McDonlads racer with their neons!.............only years before they ever existed!).

Why not just buy a pack of those battery powered "under unit" lights they advertise on TV?
Clicky

£3.50 for 3 biggrin.gif The ones I bought for a job in the local Church had a magnetic backing as one of the fixing options.
You could keep one in the glove box, if required anywhere really just turn on and place on the metalwork.
Bonnet, wheel arch doing a flat tyre etc. wink.gif
