Don't be silly, they aren't fog lamps, they are additional driving lamps

IMO, it would be silly to put driving lamps inside the engine bay
a fog lamp would give a better wide spread of light

Now don't be silly Ben, he would claim that he was blinded by them and that it was your fault he crashed because you suggested it.
The Haynes Fiesta Manual (3397) can answer a lot of your questions.

A slim reversing light was fixed to the bracing of the bonnet, (and if I remember correctly) which was wired to a panel inside the car, with a switch and a warning light (didn't want to light the engine bay whilst driving along - could have been mistaken for a McDonlads racer with their neons!.............only years before they ever existed!).

Clicky
£3.50 for 3 The ones I bought for a job in the local Church had a magnetic backing as one of the fixing options.
You could keep one in the glove box, if required anywhere really just turn on and place on the metalwork.
Bonnet, wheel arch doing a flat tyre etc.

oh silly me - should've thought of that; sorry
come, come Jamie - the chap made a perfectly reasonable point; you wouldn't want to deny him credit, would you?
