Hello all, im looking for help.... I have 99 1.4 Puma, and the batterys went in my key fob, so central locking no longer works, i since put in new batteries, but the car wont let me reporgramme them.. The problem is that the car wont go into learning mode? The LED beside the clock is suppost to stay lit when you put the key to position 1 in the ignition, but it wont for some reason? My local ford garage couldnt do it on the spot either and want to take the car in for a day and charge me a heap of labour....no thanks... Any ideas why the car wont go into learning mode???? Please help...lol...

Hi, Welcome to the site.

There is a good bit in the Wiki guide on coding keys. Clicky
My local garage did my first Puma with the window open.
If the worst come to it, try a local auto lock specialist.
I had two EBay bought key fobs coded to the daughters Rover for £45 the other week.
MK4 XR3i
Mk3 XR3i
R Reg 1.7 Puma
T Reg 1.7 Lux Puma
Now its Racing Puma 072

Have you tried resetting the alarm module and checked the fuse?

Hey, I checked all fuses in both fuse boxes and all seem fine... How do you reset the alarm module?? I really appreciate the help, its driving me up the wall not being able to fix the problem.. Was also thinking is it an immobiliser problem???

What I did was click on the link in Post #2 (as suggested by Dogsbody) for the info. Perhaps you should try it. ;)
