Hi, I need 4 new tyres for my frp and can't decide between toyo T1R's or Yokohama Parada's.

Anyone got any experience of either of these or any other FRP owners had any tyres that have been good!

445 is currently still on original P6000's at on the rear!

dont you mean p7000's standard puma had p6000 as standard fit.

ive had both tyres.

love the toyos, great grip dry and wet but with my cornering style they have only lasted 5000 miles and ive had two sets up front. they are quite soft but definately good for the price.

the parada's i have on now

they look brilliant and in the dry are brilliant, but in the wet they are a no no. these tyres in the wet are quite poor.
read the same thing on many other forums about them too.

but if like my frp it doesnt go out in the rain much then i would say get them as dry weather grip is great.

I've got Eagle F1s all round on mine. Only ever had them on the FRP, so havent got anything to compare them to, but they do grip brilliantly in the dry, and I've never had any 'moments' in the wet with them either

yep, i'd also recommend the eagles as well - currently have them all round on my frp

i've gone through 2 sets of toyo t1s and 1 set of toyo t1r - from my experience it's like driving on jelly on both in the frp

i do 100 miles commute daily and check my tyre pressures weekly using an accurate tyre gauge

ps my last set of rear fitted t1r's picked up 3 nails/punctures between them during their life

My son has used Yokohamas in the past. I think I remember him saying they were good, but soft - so didn't last that long........ with his driving I doubt anything would!!

Ive had yokos and toyos and to be honest their isnt much difference. Dont really push my car in the wet, but no problems driving normally. Endless grip in the dry! Managed to get the yokos for £240 so i went for them!

I have just fitted parada's and not found them bad at all in the wet, you can't really push the FRP in the wet anyway so there's no real need to try and find thier limits. (or maybe I just drive like a tart)

I've never had any loss of grip regardless of the weather since I had the parada's fitted, wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

parada's are fantastic in the dry but sketchy in the wet
so unless your using your car mainly on dry days i'd go for the toyo's
but then again i live in wales so of course im gunna say the better wet wheather tyre.lol

i have the paradas on my puma. Agree with the above really. Very good in the dry, (endless grip) and pretty rubbish in the wet (mainly off the line traction).
My pumas mainly used in the dry so this isnt a problem.
Can reccomend the eagle F1's from other cars tho, very good.

i have eagle f1's at the mo, had them just on the back and seem alot better than the toyos i found. So i bought some for the front, not fitted to the front yet, will be on tuesday

did a 360 in the f1's in the wet - worst grip i've come across

dumping the f1's next time round to try out the dunlops (iirc) that happy kats using..

Goodyear F1's all the way for me! Put a new front set on the other day, I love them

it's not really the wet n dry issue thats the worst of the Parada's.... it's the jelly like handling thats the real issue... the construction of the tyre is just awful for FRP handling...

has anybody tried toyo R888's? ive heard really good things about them fitted to fiesta's but not on frps?

I know there a track tyre and probly extremely expensive for the frp but has anybody tryed them? Just curious thats all

they do not come in FRP tyre size.

I have Dunlop SP Sport Maxx (extra load) and am very pleased with the performance, really precise just like the P7000 were

After experiancing the Yokohamas and brown pants on numerous occasions

Wugsy now has Uniroyal on the back and Pirrelli's on the front.
They were the other way front / back, but I swapped them after a year to even up tyre wear.
Both brands are as good as each other....

His handling is fantastic wet or dry, none of the white lining and wandering he had with the Yokohamas on. they were dreadful.....and dangerous

When I'm pushing the car hard enough to start loosing grip, its very progressive and the slide can be controlled on the throttle.

I ended up going with the Yokohama's and have been happy with them! I totally agree with the 'wet' handling comments but are fantastic in the dry. Just makes driving in the wet a bit more tricky but keeps you alert! Dogsbody, what do you mean by 'whitelining' and wandering?
