Well its the start of the hillclimb season again and first two events were last weekend at doune, i managed to get second in class on both days and got two wee tropies for my efforts. Not bad going considering i was up against 4 renault clios and a civic type R who have a chunk of power more than me. Only one of them managed to beat me which is a very well driven Clio.

So all in a gret way to start the season now all i need is a chunk more power.

Thanks for that, one of the other quick guys in my class had an engine issue which put him out for the weekend sadly but it helped me gain some valuable extra points for the championship.
In 5 years of doing sprints and hills i have almost doubled my trophy collection in one weekend which is quite good as well.:)/>

Great start to the season Brian. Mine starts in two weeks at Llysyfran with a drivers school at Prescott the Wednesday before to shake out the cobwebs. Although at the moment the car has no rear suspension fitted but should be sorted by mid week.

Next event is a wee sprint at kames on the 17th of may. im doing that to help scrub in my new tyres and also to play about with the setup a bit more. I then go up to aberdeen to do a wee hillclimb called Fintray the week after.

Sounds just like my car prep as my car was still in bits a week before my first event, the gearbox was still at the builders getting a quaife ATB fitted (he had it from the end of november i may add). So i put some holidays in at work so that i could get the car rebuilt in time.

Sounds like the Scottish hillclimb scene is like over here in Wales great venues and great fun.

The hillclimbs are all great venues and events. Could do with a few more certainly as there have been a few that have vanished over the years down to safety and other reasons. Doune is one you should come up to do even if it is only once in your life. Scary the first time you do it but also rewarding getting a good run.

We could do with a few more sprint venues though as the majority of events are run at kames with a few sprints up by aberdeen.
