Hi all not sure if this topic is in the right place or it may have been disscussed before. What i have is an after market set of rear parking sensors i would like to fit on my puma. The only problem i have is the thickness of the puma rear bumper, as to where would the best position be to drill the holes so the wiring would go though the easily, avoiding the reinforced steel channels inside the bumper.
All ideas welcomed.
Cheers mrpike.

Not sure on the Puma, but I have fitted a kit to my daughters KA.
Got the kit off Ebay, £13 ish it came with the hole saw etc and you pick the sensor colour from a selection.
I only drilled the plastic bit of the bumper and ran the wires through a hole I drilled with the supplied hole saw to get the cables into the boot.
I laid on the floor and checked where the metal reinforcing was.
Make sure you use a rubber grommet where you run the wires into the car.

I fed the box from the reversing lights. so they were only on when reverse was selected. ;)/>

The box etc was hidden under the side boot trim and the sounder I mounted just above the rear parcel shelf. I did put some duct tape over that as it was quite load and off putting.

They were so successful that I also fitted then to the front, with a switch to turn them off, so they didn't bleep when you were in a queue of traffic.

Not fancying rear parking sensors - I fitted a wireless reversing camera.

The camera came as a kit with the camera and 2 x wireless transmitter / recievers and cost £20 off eBay.

I mounted the camera above the rear number plate (dead centre) by drilling a hole to take the camera and fixed the wireless transmitter to the inside of the body under the trim. The live feed is wired into the reversing lights - so the camera only has power when the gear selector is out into reverse.

I purchased a single din head unit also off eBay (that has a 3" video screen) and reversing camera input and mounted the receiver behind the head unit (out of sight).

The range on the transmitters / receivers is about 10m - which is more than enough to cope with the length of the Puma and the frequency does not interfere with mobile phones.

The picture quality is superb when reversing - day or night.

It's a great unit for the money isn't it?. I've just put one into my Puma but without the parking camera as I'm ok with that Posted Image I was watching Titanic on the DVD player the other night sat on the drive - little things please little minds as my mother always says! One question - how do you find the AF function on the radio? Mine isn't great but the audio fitter thinks my aerial is the problem and I need a new one.

Yes excellent head unit - cheap to buy - works perfectly and reversing camera is as clear as a bell.

What I also like is the 32GB USB and SD card slot.
