searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Hi and welcome - nice to see you have the best colour cool.gif

Where are you located? There are a few Puma specialists doted around the country which are reasonably priced at changing the cambelt.

no Puma specialists near there! Nearest is Pumaspeed outside Leeds! laugh.gif

Seriously though the cambbelt is a fairly finniky job, not really suited for axle stands on the drive. You need new tensioner etc.

Check the wiki guide to it.

Good to see another Scot on again! biggrin.gif

S reg and the cam belt not changed yet is pretty scarey (assume it is A 1.7) blink.gif would put that well ahead of new wheels and being lowered.
It was originally 10 years/100k but Ford chopped the age by half to 5 years and only took 20k of the mileage. It is which ever occurs firsT, so with a S reg you have a 9+ year old car on the original setup.
Use the Ford cam belt kit as it changes other parts that equally fail and cause mega money worries, you might need a new water pump too on you Puma plus fit a new rocker gasket and auxillory belt.
