In was pondering how a puma would look with MO's on the other day - rather good is the answer.

Excited to see (and hear at 10.5krpm) how this project goes.

Best,

Fred.

Yes I like the wheels, not sure wether I should keep them or not yet as at 9-9.5 k rpm it will be over geared as there 18's I might go back to 17's.

I'll take it to 10000 very briefly on the Dyno but not on the car. It will peak power at 9000 so will rev it a little bit past that :)

un fortunately i have taken the 18inch compomotives off as they caught round roundabouts, they needed spacers which i wasnt really bothered about doing as i need 17's for my new engine anyway so have put the standard wheels back on temporarily untill i find a new set.

AP racing brakes fitted saturday and are absolutely amazing, i dont think the alcons had the best pads in so isnt the fairest comparison but there brilliant Posted Image

Stunning work chap! Those wheels must have been a pretty penny!

Also much have had some work getting the brakes to fit?

Thanks alot mate, yer there a nice set of wheels :)
Brakes were a 2wd cosworth bell set up so we just made two spacer shims for the caliper so wasnt bad at all, the wheels can clear up to 355mm disks and mine are 330 so plenty of room.

Each to our own though or our cars would all be still identical.
My motorsport rear spoiler is there for a reason, not looks.
But over the last two years it has grown on me and I wouldn't remove it.

Oh I'm running nitrous too :P

Haha im only having a laugh I can appreciate nitrous but prefer to do it with a properly built engine i may have a 50bhp shot to bring me to near on 300bhp ;)

I would have loved to have built a big power proverbially turbo engine for my FRP.
Ported and balanced, but costs are prohibitive as is the fact the car is a daily driver.
I can't afford to have a car which does 10 mpg these days.
So Nitrous was the way to go, flick a switch and I have 200 bhp to play with :)
220 with a 10 minute jet change....

Can't wait to see what yours goes like Ryan.

To be honest mine could have been 350 odd bhp turbocharged and would have cost me less then a 10000rpm atmo but in my opinion a turbo engine doesnt suit the frp, i have grown up with and drive big power turbo cars all day everyday and at the minute im really in to the atmo scene
Because my atmo engine will be so efficient and keeps the vvt with a nice bit of mapping i should still get 30+mpg on a run

30+ mpg, thats better than I get now :roflmao:

My worst ever was a airfield trackday when the car just lived just off the limiter all day.
I used a whole tank of fuel in 74 miles  around 8 mpg.
It was fun chasing a mate with his Elise and over taking Boxsters :)

8 bloody hell lol our old race car used to do 3mpg but at 720bhp thats understandable I get 35mpg at the minute if im good, new engine will only be about 5 worse off :) Flat out it will obviously use alot more fuel though

I love those wheels, white for me, and they look super easy to clean, want to swap ;0
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Posted Image
Then gave it a real thorough clean Posted Image
Excuse my terrible pictures Inlet ports Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
I dont think you could get any bigger valves inPosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
Exhaust portsPosted ImagePosted Image
Inlet manifold matched perfectly to the head and dowled in position Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
Still got a long way to go yet as a lot of working out has to be done for valve spring heights, crush etc then having custom shims made but can pretty much build it over thennext week :)

Nice ports open and matched nicely.

Someone on here isn't fan of opening up ports, but its surprising how much power you can get by simply flowing them.
Considering who your dad is and what he does, you will know exactly what to do. ;)
