Parcel Shelf String Fix Easy Rate Topic:

People have probably already figured out a solution to this but thought it might be helpful to other newbies.
As everyone knows the parcel shelf strings have crap plastic hooks. Mine snapped as they all do so I snipped the hooks off and drilled a hole with a 2mm drill bit and screwed picture hooks in and bent the hook in slightly using pliers. It now pops over the nib with a little pressure and the problem is solved

The little issue sounds well fixed for you now with the strings, though the parcel shelf popping out might be next, easy fix with rubber bands around the posts.

searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Spot on thank you. My girlfriend seems ammused by my referral to such things as "character" and not issues. Love the car too much to see any problem with it

Sorry to be resurrecting this thread after so long! Can you actually buy replacement string for the shelf? One of the hooks on mine has gone and an online search has proved fruitless.
