Along with the brake shoes, I will need to replace the rear cylinders (one showing evidence of slight leak). Apparently two different bore sizes are available: 17.5mm and 19mm. Which one is correct for a '98 1.7 Puma with 180mm drums - or is there an advantage in using one size over the other ? Thank you for any responses.

Original poster here - for anyone that's interested I've just discovered the answer: The larger 19 mm dia. is for ABS equipped Pumas / 17.5 mm for non ABS.

Thanks for sharing.
Then only the early 1.4 Pumas in the UK as the 1.4 it was originally an option or Eu intended models where ABS was an option on all models.
