Hmm, camcoat ought to stop a mild steel unit rusting too...

I tried Camcoat on a mild steel 4-1 manifold years ago, lasted less than a month before it discoloured and less than three before rust appeared. btw it was professionally applied by a mate at a paint shop who sand blasted and etch primed it with VHT stuff as well...

Miltech SS manifold and full system fitted with standard heat shield fitted too; no problems. Standard heat shield fits onto manifold no problems (look at fixing holes on photos at top of this thread) so not sure why people are not leaving it on? huh.gif

looking at that you made it fit, out of the box I don;t think you get those bolts/fixings they look welded on?

I'm having the milltek FRP manifold fitted in just over a week at pumaspeed. Will have to make sure the heat sheild goes back on - I guess if the holes are in a different place that's why it doesn't get put back on as a rule. Think this is evidence that it should be though.

The Milltek has not got the holes for the full heatshield to be replaced Dan, Hence ring Demon Tweeks in Wrexham for some foil = good stuff.

It can obviously fit with a bit of gentle persuasion (holes made and a bit of hacking) though as in the pic earlier in the thread.

have toadmit there was a bit of gentle persusion tongue.gif but nothing to drastic, no holes were drilled and those brackets were on the monifold when it arrived, maybe its a later addition as was fitted only a month or 2 ago

I've also had the Milltek manifold fitted about a month ago.
I told mechanic my concerns about heatshield and he said he couldn't see what the problem was.
The heatshield fitted fine and he couldn't work out why anyone would leave it off.
So as said above, maybe the manifold has been modified by Milltek recently.

The HEGO looms will need to be extended if you are fitting a sports cat, the cat will be near to the handbrake when fitted.

for my manifold, the sensor went lower down, just before the cat pipe (you get a free de-cat pipe if you buy the full miltek exhaust) does yours have 2 sensors then?

I had to ask Tony to fit my heatshield when he fitted the Miltek a few years ago, He said it wasn't needed but I insisted, his guy put a couple of the screws back in but not all, I fitted them at a later date. The mounts/fixings on the Miltek don't have the correct hole centres IIRC so I had to drill the heat shield to match the manifold, it also takes a bit of persuation as someone else mentioned.
