2L with 1.7 vct head

:?: Does anyone know if a 2l mondeo/focus block would fit the standard 1.7 vct head??

I would guess the block is much bigger, but i am no ford specialist, have you tried any of the tuning people?

Wasn't 1.7 VCT puma engine specially co developed by Yamaha (see Sigma) as Zetec SE and is an aluminium engine whereas Mondeo/ Focus Engine is Zetec based on an iron block based on old CVH.

Therefore would think you might have a problem mating the rwo engines

However not a mechanic so don't know

The mondeo block is cast iron, but I'm not shure whit the focus, it is a never car, and every brocure i hvae says its light weight, but doe not say iron, or alu. so im nut shur. I'm going to bo se my deeler over easter, to se if the head gaskets of the two match or not, and see if thay know aney thing (Dubth it tho)
