Hi Chaps & Chapesses!!

I have decided to replace my tyres on Pumie as the ones on now are looking a bit worse for wear....

Been advised that Goodyears Eagle F1 tyres are very good!

Anyone tried them etc... Please give me your opinions.

Thanks In Advance!

Eagle F1s are very good, always done very well in Autocar tyre tests, but they're also a bit pricey. I'd also highly recommend Toyo Proxes if you can find them cheaper than the goodyears.

I am using a website called: www.blackcircles.com

They deliver the tyres and fit them at a local centre

I think it worked out at Å“35.40 per tyre fitted etc.....

I make it Å“48.91 for 195/50 R15 V's.....? For the Goodyears, that is.

Still cracking value considering that's the fully fitted price including VAT.

I just got Goodyear Eagle F1's fitted by ford's for Å“44 each!! They are great, really nice soft compound, obviuosly I am sure this means they wont last as long as say michelin but they grip really well. Plus they look fantastic on, the ^ shape of tread just looks sooo cool!

Tiggr came with Goodyear, and in general I stuck with them til Dumb and Dumber fitted not only cheap and horrid ones cos they had scrubbed the last set "testing the engine" but the wrong size. As Dan can confirm, tyre roll from over wide tyres can be exciting wink.gif

F1s are a good tyre, good grip and wear resistance

Our Puma has F1s and I've always been very happy with them in the dry, extremely happy in the wet, yet the thing that always surprises me is just how many people are impressed just by the look of the tyres when they see the car. Tyre aesthetics have never been something I've really thought of, but judging by the comments F1s are certainly eye-catching.

I swear by the Michellin Pilot Exalto. Have found them to be fantastic in both dry and wet. I get 'em fitted at Costco for around Å“43 each.

Do you have to spam crap in every thread about Eagle F1s ? Sure you had a bad experiance but that happens now ******* get over it 9.gif

Ive had eagle F1s fitted to my Zetec S and my Racing Puma and find them to be Fantastic, Dry grip is fantastic and wet grip really is something else. No one can belive how hard i can drive my FRP in the wet !

Go for it mate, Great tyres

The forum is about sharing experience.

Just 'cos you've had a good experience with the Goodyears doesn't make your input any more (or less) valid than m8ttes.

I thought the Eagle F1's were the best out there, until I bought a set of Michellin Pilot Exalto's! Truly awesome tyres!

In really heavy rain I found the Eagles had a tendency to aquaplaned a little, the Michellins cut through the water so well, you can hardly tell it’s there.

I love the Eagle F1 tyres, the grip in both wet and dry is fabulous, especially on such a skittish car as the FRP.

The only thing is that you need to shop around as prices vary enormously - I have been quoted between Å“110 and Å“160 each fitted. Interestingly the cheapest were Fords and a discount tyre company the most expensive...

searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale
