what type of security does a standard 2002 1.7 puma have? does it have a alarm or immobiliser? The insurance company have asked what type of security it has and apart from the standard "factory fitted security" i dont have a answer and they want to know the model number of the security or similar eg "It has a standard ford abc123 immobiliser".

Cheers all.

it is a cat 2 alarm
on Thatcham's website (with a bit of search, if not on here too as this has been asked within the last fortnight) you can find out the details smile.gif

I know it has security but does it have a make / model number?

With my integra i have a certificate in the manual that stats it has a honda alarm up to a cat 1 standard and a model code but the puma we have does not have this even though i am pretty sure we have all the paperwork. Does anybody know if ford have certain type of alarm with a name / code fitted to a puma?

Cheers.

If you look on Thatcham's stuff I recall it does include the Puma code

I googled it.
http://www.hearsay.demon.co.uk/puma/assorted.html
it was the first site listed

and this is the Thatcham site, Google found it smile.gif

Shouldn't make any difference though, as when the ABI rated the Puma it was based upon it's standard fit equipment. I.e. no unmodified Puma has anything else.
