Hi guys,

I hope it's the right subforum to post it, if it's not, just let me know !

Well, someone recently broke my passenger's side door mirror (aarrrgh....) So I'm looking for a used one to replace it (a new one costs an arm & a leg). There are some available on the net, but mostly from UK sellers.
Here's my concern : a have a left-hand drive Puma (I'm french), so the passenger's side is on the right. If I buy a right door mirror in UK, it might be not be compatible with my car (electrically or whatever), because the driver's side is on the right. It could be OK as well, but I'm not 100% sure. And that would piss me a bit to buy a useless part...
I haven't been able to find an answer on the site, maybe someone can enlighten me on this ?
Note : mine is a 1.7 from 2000, black, mirrors are electrically adjustable (but not heated as far as I know).

Cheers !

I think there might be a difference between passenger and driver mirrors. On my Focus I have electric folding mirrors and the passenger one folds flat to the car but the drivers one doesn't due to a slightly different size/shape base. You should get away with it tho, can't imagine they are that different...

I've ordered one from UK, so I'll be sure soon :)

Oki, where are you from ? I live near Valence (26).

On the french forum, some guys dismantle pumas, so you could easily find your looking part.

A bientôt

A quick update :
I received my used mirror from UK, re-painted it, mounted it, voilà (the hardest part was to re-assemble the door's inside "lining").
Conclusion :
LHD/RHD mirrors are compatible indeed (same mechanical interface, same electrical connector).
The only thing I'm not sure of is the setting range of the mirror ; LHD & RHD seem different. I feel that I can't set it exactly as I used to, it reaches pretty quickly the limit of the range (when turning the mirror towards the car's body), so I had to set it to the limit to have a decent viewing angle.
I checked the part numbers (old R-LHD vs. new R-RHD) and they look identical, so maybe it's my imagination (or I can't read).
I could dismantle the mirror to analyze/tune the setting range stuff (I guess it's purely mechanical), but I'm just lazy.
Anyway, it does the job, for a fraction of what I would have paid in a garage.
Thank you guys !
