My central locking is continually going on & off, i have now removed the fuse to stop it but was wondering if anybody has any ideas on what causes this problem?.

Hiya Mike ..

this happens when one of the locks is faulty and the central locking system cannot operate both doors...

Stripping down the door is character building :) :head:

Thanks for the reply, is it something i can repair myself? (i am mechanically & electrically able) & is it just likely to be something like a seized latch?

Hi there Mike, I had a similar problem with a Fiesta. Stripped the door down and the contacts for the locking motor had corroded, a quick clean up later and all good. I wrapped it up with electrical tape and never had the problem again.

yeah you could first check the multi-spike loom connector first at both doors... the connector kind of screws up to the loom...

sometimes you have to hold the car side of the connector to get it to lock on properly...if it doesn't quite lock it can unwind over time and cause this issue...

Happened to my Dad last year.... :good:
