Incorporating Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire (and the 4 Counties Inn along the way). The route will loop through all 4 counties and stay pretty centralised to where they all meet.

Start point: Tesco in Ashby de la Zouch - postcode LE65 1DW

**Aiming for around 10:30 to 11:00 meet time, grab supplies for the picnic, and aim for setting off between 11:00 and 11:30.**

Picnic stop: Foremark Reservoir - postcode DE65 6EG

Then westwards via Repton, Willington, under the A38 and Hilton to Tutbury. (I'd suggest stopping at the Castle, but we'll have to pay an entrance fee plus they've got an event on, so could be quite busy.)

Heading south towards Barton Under Needwood, we'll pass over the A38 to Walton on Trent, a sucession of windy roads and little villages will get us to the A513 for a spot of relaxed driving for a few miles until we hit the twisties again.

Drink/toilet stop: Four Counties Inn - postcode B79 0PB

Heading south again, more twisties before we pick up the B5000 near Polesworth, then the B585 eastwards through Wellsborough and Market Bosworth.

A left turn will then see us heading north on the A447 towards Coalville, however, we'll turn off in Ibstock and pick up 2 miles of my normal journey home from work to Heather (pronounced Hee-ther for those who don't know) avoiding the speed bumps in the village, we'll head straight back to Ashby.

We can then relax and have some food wherever we wish, though it'll probably be the Brewers Fayre as I don't really know the restuarants in Ashby town centre itself.

As we'll be starting and finishing in the same place, anyone who wants to have a break frome driving (especially those who've come a way to attend) there is always the option of riding shotgun with a willing volunteer. That'd give both parties someone to talk to on the drive. biggrin.gif

A Word document of the directions and maps of the exact route are available by request. I will be providing printed copies on the day too.

Nice to know that democracy is alive and well, and that we got to defend ourselves. Not.

I am going to put the logo i created + members name on it on an acrylic tag. So it looks professional and kinda nice. Going to post some ideas on this badge and perhaps will do one for every member on here... (reminds me of the secret seven badge thingy haha) I think you concentrate on the route and planning, I will do the badges Cool??

huh.gif Would you mind at least giving me a chance to try making my own first? It's something I wanted to include right from the start before I even posted the thread up. It's not that I don't appreciate the offer, I do. I'd just like to give it a go myself. happy.gif
