Update!

Been a while since i've done anything... Been enjoying the car!

9th September 2010 - Fitted new Oxgen sensor to cure lack of torque and the odd misfire, Problem solved

10th September 2010 - Removed and cleaned Mass Air Flow sensor and Idle Control Valve. Checked wiring to Throttle Position Sensor and #406 has been fitted with the revised connector. Reset ECU and cleared error codes thrown up by the faulty Oxygen sensor. Engine now running very smoothly.

Sorry no pictures for this... forgot :(

Update!!

22nd August 2010 - #406 attended the 10th Anniversary meet at Duxford Imperial War Museum along with around 50 other racing pumas! wasn't its finest hour i have to say... I was so pushed for time before the event i had no time to clean it! infact i think that this may well be the dirtiest i have ever let it get! but here are a few photos from the day...

#406 Alongside #001 or FMC01 the First press car! (usually lives at fords heritage museum)

23rd September 2010 - New tyres fitted on front end to replace worn Goodyear Eagle F1's (the low tread depth was giving a scary drive in wet conditions). 2x Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta XL 215/40/17 fitted and the tracking checked and re aligned.

Update!!

19th November 2010 - Replaced the non geniune front top mounts and bearing with geniune ford parts due to the bearing not providing enough clearance between the mount and the strut top plate resulting in a squeeking noise when turning the steering wheel! Problem fixed - Sorry no photos of this one! receipt for parts kept. Also took the time to Clean the pistons and caliper rails on the Alcons whilst the discs were off.

If the bushes, mounts etc haven't been done yet then yeah... it will make a HUGE difference. Mine felt a right mess to drive before i done the bushes and mounts.

Hi mate, the mounts you spoke of, are we talking about the ones on top of the turret or on top of the strut?

My new struts came with the rubber mounts but i'm wondering whetehr to replace the ones on top of the suspension turret aswell.

Which bushes have you replaced if any?

The ones on top of the strut. I haven't replaced the ones that go above the turret as they are only really there to stop the strut from falling out when the car is jacked up! they wouldn't make a difference in performance/handling

All bushes have been replaced with original ford items.

Regards

Tim

Yes i replaced the lower arm bushes, the front and rear ones on each lower arm. the rear lower arm bush is frp specific and the front one is a standard puma bush. i also replaced the rear beam (axle) bushes - these WILL need doing on yours if it hasn't had them replaced already, and these are also the standard puma bushes.

Hope this helps

Tim
