Not sure if this is the right place to post this.
i recently bought 00 1.4 PUMA with the engine gone - i have a 1.4 puma engine to replace it, but the new car has air conditioning is it possible to but non airconditioning engine into new car and obvisiouly try to get air con to work.
Also is it easier to remove engine and gear box or just engine?
Also it has what looks like key scrapes along each side isit possible to polish these up temporarily till i can afford a proper job to be done!

hi there! we did an engine swap on our 1.4 puma almost 2 years ago now and our new engine didnt have air con but the old one did what we did was take the air con compressor off the old engine and put it on the new onw it just bolts on to the new engine

as for the take out we took them both out at the same time we a tight fit but very possible! also check your clutch before putting it in we didnt and ended up after putting it all back together having to take the box off to replace the clutch

good luck!

Hi,

It depends on how bad the scrapes are, if they are surface they should be easier than if down to primer. I find Autoglym Paint Renovator good, but it is quite abrasive so don't go too mad, also make sure you give it a couple of coats of a decent wax afterwards. If it is down to primer you can try touching it up with a paint pen first and blending it in with the Paint Renovator, I did this with 2 huge stone chips on my door which had gone down to the white primer (approx half the size of a 1p coin) and they are hard to notice now at a glance, unless you know they are there and go looking for them.
