Hey all

I finally got myself a new puma after years of lusting after one. Hubby drove a puma when we first met so had a taster a few years ago. Picked it up on the 1st April this year. It's a puma black d.o.r 2000. It had done 76k miles when I picked it up so average mileage.

Planning the cambelt change in the not to distant future, just had to have my passenger wing mirror replaced after an altercation with a tarmac lorry. On Friday the windown on my side started playing up, it will go down fine but hesitates on the way back up. I was wondering whether a little bit of lubricant rubbled along the rubber would help but I don't know what to purchase. Wondered if anybody had experienced the same problem.

The incident with the lorry has rattled me quite a bit although the damage really was minimal. It could have been a heck of a lot worse. The MOT is due in september and I am a bit anxious about what it might uncover. The brakes are fine according to the garage that repaired the wing mirror but they feel quite soft to me. I took it to the ford dealer in Bridgwater for the mirror repairs and have no complaints about the service, I think the labour cost for a dealer might mean that I should look for another reputable garage though. If anyone knows of a good mechanic in or around the Bridgwater/Taunton area I would be grateful for the recommendation.

Many thanks

Victoria

Hi Victoria

I'm in Bridgwater too and have exactly the same question. Not sure which garage to use as expect that Ford garage is going to be pretty pricey. I've used Staceys in the past but that was when I had a Nissan Micra and they're Nissan specialists. Mine's due for a cambelt change soon as I've done 53000 and it's a 2001 so any suggestions about a good garage would be useful.

Wave if you see me - I'm in a Y reg Pacific Green. I've seen quite a few Pumas around locally biggrin.gif

Hi Lisa, your cambelt is now overdue as Ford changed the interval to 80k or 5 years - whicher come first, 5 years in your case.
Again Tremona in Southampton will do an excellent job for you.

Pete.

Victoria, don't know if you're still looking for a garage in Bridgy/Taunton area but I can recommend a good one. Had my cambelt done today and a brakes test at Nationwide Autocentre in Taunton. I phoned them in a panic this morning as brakes warning light was on and they fitted me in straight away so I could get brakes checked. Smeone at work recommended them to me too so seem to have alot of satisfied customers smile.gif
